CECIL SHORT REFUSES JUDGE WILLIAMS COMMUTATION PAPERS GRANTED HIM A scrap of paper which is worth his life to him is the blue-backed proclamation of former Governor Miriam toy; Cecil Short in the county jail, says the Dallas Dispatch. I tis the proclamation commuting his sentence of death in the electric chair for the killing of Aaron Jones, negro, at Grand Prairie last summer, to life imprisonment.
