GRISMER Waukee Marvilla M. RAYBURN Clive DARWIN YOUNG Pleasant Hill Rayburn "Ray" Burnett, 80, passed away surrounded bv his loved ones 7, i 1 from Fairbank High School and attended Drake University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.

Ray worked for Massey Ferguson for 20 years and Wells Fargo for 22. He was a member of Lutheran Church of Hope. Ray enjoyed traveling and ventured too many states, foreign countries, numerous cruises, and also enjoyed touring in their motorhome. Ray and Linda were able to spend several winters in the south. Ray was a kind and loving man and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Mary (Michael) McKenna; sons, Doug (Zoe) Thornton, Mark (Beth) Thornton, and Adam (Jose) Scott; six grandchildren, Michael (Tye) Thornton, William Thornton, Wyatt Thornton, Robert (Alisha) Thornton, Skylar (Patty) Thornton, David Thornton, Erin McKenna, and Megan (Daniel) McKenna; six great-grandchildren; and his brother, Norman (Helen) Burnett. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Vernetta Burnett; and his brother, John Burnett. to 2:00 p.m. and the service at 2 p.m. Ray was born November 22, 1935 and graduated Jessica Donna Thilges was born on February 9, 1985 in Des Moines, Iowa to Paul and Therese (Duer) Thilges. Jessica grew up in Urbandale and graduated from Dowling Catholic High School in 2003. In 2007 she graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Economics.

Jessica worked at Wells Fargo, most recently as a mortgage underwriter. Jessica was an avid Iowa Risser, William H. M.D. Darwin Young, age 86 of Pleasant Hill, IA, died on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Taylor House. He was born on September 20, 1929 to Clarence and Kathryn Young, in Macksburg, IA.

Darwin served four years in the Air Force. In 1955, he married Gretchen Gustafson, and together they had a daughter, Denise. Darwin worked for Anderson Erickson Dairy for 38 years. Darwin is survived by his wife, Gretchen; daughter, Denise (Rick) Johnson; granddaughters, Beth (Chad) Marchant and Anna (Roland) Bedard; greatgrandchildren, Christian and Kathryn Marchant and Parker Bedard; siblings, Dean (Enid), wight (Susan), Wayne (Jo), Wyman (Janice), MaryAnn (Gerold) Olson, and Wesley (Joan) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m.

Services will be held 10-30 AM Mnndav February 8, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church in Dallas Center. Cremation will follow services. John was born August 14, 1953, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Ralph and Eleanor (Culver) Bircher.

Marvilla was born February 24, 1925 to Alfred and Arvilla (Aben-droth) Benbow in Clear Lake, Iowa. She was a graduate of Fort Madison High School, Coe College in Cedar Rapids and Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, II. On September 5, 1948 she married William Grismer. Memberships include Westminster Presbyterian Church, PEO-Chapter KT, Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, Hyperion Field Club and active in golf circles. Survivors include her husband, William of Waukee; children: Jennifer (Eric) Dahlgren of Nevada City, CA, Thomas (Christine) Grismer of Westminster, CO, Amy (Mark) Sills of Champaign, IL, James (Brenda) Grismer of Plymouth, MN; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

Marvilla was preceded in death by her siblings: Louise Gray, James Benbow and Dorothea Zimmerman. God gave Loren Allen Stecker, 81, angel wings February 3rd, at Mercy hospital with his family by his side. He died from multiple organ failure. Visitation will be held at Monday, February 8th, with funeral service to follow at at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church. Loren was born on September 23rd 1934, in Titonka, Iowa to Telko and Agnes Stecker. In 1955 he served in the Army.

He was on the Honor Guard for the President, White House, Ceremonial events, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Arlington National Cemetery. Then, he completed his Masters in BusinessEconomics at Drake University. He worked at Central Life where he met and married his wife Sally and retired as a Senior Underwriter. Loren enjoyed watching his granddaughters play Softball, traveling with his son, spending time with his family, gardening, and was an active member at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church. Loren is survived by his daughter Lynne (Dave) Schoop and his son David Stecker; his three granddaughters Mindy, Nicole, and Michele Schoop; his siblings Marlene (Norm) Wagner, Shari Newman, Judy McFerren, Ted (Michelle) Stecker, Betsy (Harold) Prince, and Tom (Judy) Stecker.

She was born in Lorimor, Iowa, on November 21, 1933, to Lawrence and Priscilla Patterson. Leona lived most of her life in Des Moines and was a devoted wife and mother.

She worked at Western Southern Life Insurance Company as office manager, and in her later years she worked in the cafeteria at Woodside Middle School. Leona was a member of the Croatian Club and Eagles Lodge. Leona is survived by her daughters, Dianna (Chris) Gleason and Deborah Mascaro; grandchildren, Jae and Nicole (Aaron) Gleason, Aerica (Paul) and Michael Baker, and Katie Lashley; 8 greatgrandchildren; as well as other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m.

Hawkeye fan, nervously cheering them on during each football season. She was also a history buff, always ready with an "I read on the BBC that fact. Jessica loved baking, but not the cleanup process. And most of all Jessica loved her cats, Charlotte and Hawkeye. She had a beautiful smile accompanied by a great sense of humor and will be missed by many.

Jessica passed away on February 2, 2016 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at the age of 30. Jessica is survived by her parents and sisters; Sarah Thilges (Phil Tetley), Katie Thilges and Maggie Harm (Ryan Harm), her significant other Christopher Pinkerton, grandmothers Donna Thilges and Rose Duer, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jessica was preceded in death by her grandfathers Paul Thilges and John Duer. Visitation will be from noon to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 7 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 8 at St.

William "Bill" Risser was born in Des Moines, Iowa on November 16, 1926 to William W. Risser and Valma Gerde Risser After being drafted into the Army in 1945 Bill was honorably discharged, and he resumed his education he married Robin Netland and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School.

To this union two sons were born, Aaron and Ryan. He worked at Tom Kelly Ford in Fort Dodge as a body shop manager prior to moving to Des Moines where he resided at Waveland Golf Course, being involved with the Waveland Golf Association. John worked at Allied Group as a commercial insurance adjuster. In the early 1990's he opened a driving range in Waukee and later he designed and built Sugar Creek Golf Course at the same location, where he gave back to the game by giving lessons. John met Chloette Bennett on November 12, 1997, and they married August 12, 2007.

They made their home in rural Dallas Center where he ran a car repair business. John enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, fishing and playing golf recreationally and competitively. He was a member of Fort Dodge Choral Society. One of the greatest joys in his life was his grandson, Miles. John is survived by his wife of "18" years, Chloette Bennett Bircher, two sons, Aaron (Heather) Bircher of Whiting, IA and Ryan Bircher of Des Moines and Ryan's son Miles; his siblings, David (Carol) Bircher of Quebec, Canada, Lynn Stewart of Des Moines and Patricia Slater of Amery, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Leonard Bircher. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm 4:00 pm Sunday, February 7, at Iles-Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center. College in Pasadena, California. He later did his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California, and completed his undergraduate degree in pre-medicine. He followed two Uncles, who were physicians, and went on to study medicine at USC, and received his medical degree in 1958 in Obstetrics. He then went on to complete his residency at LA CountyUSC Medical Center. Bill loved health and fitness and was an avid runner and skier.

He was especially fond of long distance bike ridding. He rode many times in The Ragbrai, a long distance race, in which the contestants ride across the state of Iowa, starting in Sioux City, Iowa and finishing in Davenport, Iowa. Bill loved animals and had at least one dog around him his entire life. Bill loved vintage cars, and loved the the music of the 30's and 40's, and was always heard playing the likes of Vaughn Monroe, Bunny Barragan, and his longtime hero Bix Beider-becke. Dr.

Risser is survived by his sister Marilyn Holland, and nephews Eric, and Tom Holland and will be greatly missed.
