This is all there is of that matter.

But here Is another item of recklessness of statement which is merely an echo from McConuell. if he is correctly reported, to which it is proper that attention should be paid: "Then a Republican Legislature repealed the Local Option act, aud licence was granted contrary to the wili of the people of this county." Now, what are the facts concerning this Local Option business, so far as the Pennsylvania Legislature is concerned? The original Local Option act passed during the session of 1872, and, at that time, the Republicans controlled both branches of the Legislature. A Republican Governor (Gov. Theodore Tilton is engaged to lecture in Orwell some time month. The next teachers' examination for' Trumbull county will be held In Warren, Saturday, Jan.

A new trial in the celebrated Scott- Bobbit-Cross case at Cleveland was last week denied, whereupon the counsel for the defense filed another motion. Of the 32 voting agaiust license, 21 gave Republican majorities at the preceding Stale election and 11 gave Democratic majorities Philadelphia voted for license. We refer to Local Option. As Governor Foster is supposed to be preparing his annual message, of course he will not neglect to discuss this proposition. The Ohio State Bar Association proposes a constitutional amendment reforming the judiciary system. The plan provides that it shall consist of Just ice Courts, Probate Courts, Court of Common Pleas, and a Supreme Sourl to consist of nine members, to be elected by the people, three at a time, on the minority plan. About 4 a.

Thei no party politics in this movemeu and let it be run on that line. The following from the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Constitutional Amendment Association, is pertinent to the above: The Constitutional Amendment Association does not ask the Legislature to amend the Coustitulion. It does not ask the members of the Legislature to vote in favor of au amendment.

The Amendment must obtain, if at all, bv the vote of the people of the State. It does ask the Legislature to submit the amendment to the decimou of the popular vote. Can any proposition be more reasonable Send for petitions. D. L.
