Several Arlington College classmates were hostesses on August at a miscellaneous shower, when Miss Martha Johnson entertained at her home on College Street. Other hostesses included Misses Anita Mobley, Judy Thomas, Laverne Shoemaker, all of Grand Prairie, and Miss Judy Spiva, Arlington. The chosen colors of the bride-elect, pink and white, were used in the decorative scheme. The table 'centerpiece, fashioned by Miss Mobley, featured a large wedding ring, done in silver, with the names Verna tending from either side. Other table appointments were in silver.

Arrangements of roses were placed in the living room of the home. Miss Dornbluth was attired in a blue and white cotton chemise. Twenty five guests called between the hours of 7 and 9 o'clock. A linen shower at the home of Mrs. Mary Wright in Ar- lington on August 9, honored Miss Dornbluth.

Laid with a white linen cloth, the table had as its cen- terpiece an arrangement of pink roses and white carnations. Tall white tapers incry- stal holders flanked the centerpiece. The white and pink color scheme was further carried out in the white napkins with "Verna and Clyde" embossed in pink. Individual cakes were decorated with wedding bells and tiny pink flowers. Pink punch was also served.

Grand Prairie City Hall employees, where Miss Dornbluth is employed, surprised the bride to be Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock with a kitchen shower given at Citv Hall. Pink punch and individual cakes were served. In charge of arrangements for the party were Mrs. Griffin and Mrs. Vyola Gerrald.

(Cron PhotoX Stogner Garden Club Has Social At a meeting of the Spade and Shovel Garden Club Tuesday evening on the patio of the home of Mrs. Carl Young, 1722 Dorothy, the newly elected program chairman, Mrs. Ruby Stout, gave an interesting outline of the programs for the coming year. Mrs. Neil Mitchell, president, presided during the meeting when money making projects were discussed for the purpose of planting more trees at the BenMilam School.

Mrs. Chutchian was named chairman of die wavs and means committee. It was announced that the club would continue UK-, ting on the third Thursday of ach month at the First National Room. An ice cream social followed the meeting. Present were four guests Mrs.
