Mr. Marsh has received word from Senator Fred Seibert, St. Marys, of the 32nd senatorial district, slating that the sum of $100,000 has included in the Additions and Better- men's bill and will be used for the dredging of the canal and repairing the banks of the stream from 40- Acre Pond through Delphos. The Chamber of Commerce has been seeking for some time to have the canal improved through this city. Various suggestions were made among them the use of large tile to carry the water through Delphos and to make it possible lo cover up the stream at this place.

This, however, was found to be prohibitive in cost -and it was then urged that the stream be dredged -and proper repairs be made to prevent floods in this city and to make the stream more sightly. ENTERS PLEA OF NOT GUILTY Herbert MIcHclo, of Dclphos, Proprietor of Wagon Wheel in Lima, Bound Over to Allen County Grdnd Jury on Charge of Man- Slaughter Lima Man Also Enters Not Guilty to Charge Arraigned Monday as Result of Death of Lima Man. Russell R. Myers, 38, of Lima, died Sunday in Memorial hospital at Lima of a fractured skull which he received Saturday evening in front of The Wagon Wheel in Lima. According to Lima police who investigated the incident, Myers was ejected from the Lima tavern by Herbert Mericle, of this city, proprietor of the place, with the aid of a patron, Linden C.

Hewey, of Lima. Authorities state that after Myers had been taken to the sidewalk in front of the estabishmen't, he was hit and knocked down several times allegedly by both Mericle and Hewey. Mericle and Hewey were arrested on open-charges following the fight. Hewey was held in the city jail but Mericle was released in custody of -John A. Shenk, Delphos attorney.

The two men were arraigned Monday morning in Lima muicipal court on charges of manslaughter. Mericle entered a plea of not guilty and waived a preliminary hearing in the Lima court. He was bound over to the Allen county grand jury. His bond was set at $1,000 and he was released after providing this bond. He is being represented by the law firm of Myers and Myers, of Celina, and by John Shenk, of this city.

Hewey entered a plea of not guilty to the charge- and requested a preliminary hearing in 'Lima municipal court. The date for this hearing was set for June 18 at 10:30 a. m. and his bond was set at $1,000. Hewey is beingrepresented by the law firm of Light and Siferd, of Lima.

Three persons injured, one seriously, Sunday afternoon in an automobile collision which took place in Middle Point. An automobile being driven by Carl Becker, of Spencerville, and one being driven by Clayton Heilel- flnger, of Middle Point, figured in the coUision. Heffelflnger was not injured in the crash. Mr. Becker sustained a cerebral hemorrhage in the crash.

Two passengers in his automobile, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burson, of Lima, sus- tianed severe laceration and bruises. Becker and Mr. and Mrs.

Burson were removed from the scene of the accident to the Memorial hospital in Lima for treatment. The removals were made in the Paul Harter and Son ambulance. The accident took- place at about p. m. and the Spencerville man and 'the Lima couple were in Middle Point to witness the baseball game between Middle Point and Spencerville which was played Sunday afternoon.
