Patton, following the Misses Kelleher, members of the Dallas League of Women Voters, talked on the topic, "Austin Is Where the Action News photo Council PTA program given A discussion on the subject, "Austin Is Where the Action Is," -was presented by two members of the League of Women Voters at the March meeting of City Council PTA. The speakers, Misses Margaret and Agnes Ann Kelleher, of Dallas, discussed procedure for passing a bill through the House of Representatives and the work of the lobbyist in Austin.

Misses Kelleher have 1 had a varied background in journalism and currently own a feature brokerage business in Dallas. They were introduced at the meeting by Mrs. J. W. Patton, Council program chairman.

Mrs. K. P. Almond, president of Church Women United, gave the inspiration. Mrs.

Howard Brown, Council president, conducted the business session, during which the Rev. Billy McDaniel, exceptional child chairman, announced that there will be a testing program held in connection with the preschool round-up this year for those who are interested. The be Riven tests which ren will be given tests which will demonstrate their abilities and disabilities in certain areas. Mrs. Calven McDCoy introduced a new program of action to Council for the new year which will encourage local units to support a beautification and betterment program for the city and school.

Bruce Schenkler, interior design decorator, illustrated his talk on "Compatability of Furniture" with color slides when he spoke at the March meeting of the Interior Decorating Dep a of the Woman's Club. The group met in the home of Mrs. Henry Peek, 805 NW 9th St. Schenkler, co-owner of George's Furniture Store in Irving, used slides to illustrate the good and poor use of de- sigh, showing what had been achieved with various furniture pieces and decorating items. He also stressed the idea of bringing the outside into the home.
