According to present indications the packifng of tomatoes and tomato products will get under way about the first of next week. Although some tomatoes are being received at the local plant at the present time, the supply is not heavy enough to keep a force at the factory busy and so the tomatoes are beiitig trucked to the plant at St. Mavysi It is believed that by the first of next week, if present weather conditions prevail, the supply of tomatoes will be heavy enough to war- the adding of a force here. Harold Swick to Have Charge of Sale of Ohio Driver's Permits Sale to Start on September 7 and New Licenses Must IKJ Obtained by September 30. The sale of new Ohio driver's licenses will start on September 7, 1943.

Harold Swick has been named ns deputy registrar in charge of the stele of licenses in Delphos and vicinity. His office will be locat-ad in the GerdemMi-Swick motor sales room on South Main street. New liicenses must be obtained by Sept. 30 and the current license must be presented by motorists to obtain the new issue. The fee is 40 cents.

The principal change in the motor vehicle laws this year provides for a five-year suspension (after Sept. 20 when tlie-law-Uecomes effective) of a' license held by any person unable to meet a judgment for mages returned against him in a court of record. Another change lowers the age for a chauffeur's permit from IS to 16 years. The law also has been liberalized to permit service men and women home on furlough to drive without a 'Pi'ovid- ed they had a license when they entered service. The members of the Allen County (Delphos) fair board are grateful for the excellent su.ppout given this year to the annual fair. The Paging of the in wartime is a difficult proposition'''and to make it successful the cooperation of all is needed. The fair this year was considered a success and could not. have been made possible had it not been for the cooperation of Delphos citizens and those in surrounding communities. A number of Delphos merchants donated business rooms for the housing of exhibits.

This is big item in the staging of the local fair and tlie officials are grateful for these donations 1 The superintendents and assistants of the various exhibits did an excellent job this year. These peo- iple receive no compensation for this work and are to be commended for their flue spirit of cooperation. Art O. Wulfhorst, fair secretary, is urging that all persons who have billei outstanding against the All-en County Agricultural Society, present them immediately to him for payment.
