Reno Evening Gazette Friday, Aug. 19, 1977- Reid would have Sinatra lawyer step forward in Webb license action CARSON CITY (AP) Nevada Gaming Commission Chairman Harry Reid wants Frank Sinatra's lawyer, Milton Ruein of Los Angeles, to step toward for licensing as a Del E. Webb Corp. director. The commission didn't issue a formal order Thursday that Rudln come forward, but Reid said that by next month he wanted a recommendation from the panel's investigatory arm, the Gaming Control Board, and he would then move to issue the order if Rudin had not voluntarily acted in the interim.

Commission member Clair Haycock said he wanted swift action on the Rudin-Sinatra matter because it appeared gaming authorities had been "running and hiding" In delaying action on the issue. Sinatra was stripped of a Nevada gaming license in 1963 for allegedly hosting the late Sam "Monur Giancana at a club Sinatra once owned at Lake Tahoe. Giancana, a known underworld figure, was assassinated in 1975. Reid said his main concern was whether Rudin should be licensed. But Haycock said he was concerned over both Rudin and Sinatra.

The move on Rudin came as Control Board member Jefi Silver disclosed that Sinatra has been divesting himself ol Del E. Webb stock. Silver also disclosed that a rift between Sinatra and Webb factions within the Phoeniz, firm had apparently ended. STILVER SAID THE Webb faction had moved to dismiss its suit against Rudin, Sinatra, Las Vegas Sun publisher Hank Greenspun and others, which alleged the Sinatra group conspired to compel it to sell certain properties to them and to book certain entertainers. Rudin had been elected to the Del E.

Webb board of directors June 3 in Phoenix, and was recently seated on the board despite initial opposition to the seating, Silver said. Sinatra and Rudin initially acquired 560,000 shares, or a Silver also said Rudin had filed notice with the federal 6 5 per cent interest, in Del E. Webb Silver said Securities and Exchange Commission that he intended to Sinatra was "systematically divesting" himself of his stock split up the arrangment with Sinatra so that he would have and the end result is expected to be a combined interest of about 125,000 shares in his own account and Sinatra would 425,000 shares, or just under five per cent. have the remainder.
