She was dead on arrival at St. Thomas Hospital. A CLERK at Roadway Express, Miss Murphy was daughter of John Murphy, vice president of Mogadore Board of Education. She was a sister of Tom Murphy, former Akron University football star and of John Murphy football coach at Buckeye High School in Medina County. Her brother-in-law, Robert Tomp kins, is a president of Moga dore School Board.

Thomas, of the Inman st. address, told police he and Miss Murphy had parked in the garage about 2 a. m. Sunday. He said he was driving Miss Murphy's car and that he closed the garage doors but left the motor running.

POLICE said Thomas and Miss Murphy apparently fell asleep. Thomas awoke about 6:30 a. rf. and found Miss Murphy unconscious. Thomas and his father operate Bus Stop Inn on Cole av.

Miss Murphy was a 1950 Mogadore High School graduate, a cheerleader and charter member of the school's honor society. Before working at Roadway Express she was employed by Canton Road Furniture Co. She was a Sunday School teacher at Mogadore First Christian Church and a member of the Bachelors and Spinsters Club of Akron. Surviving besides her parents are brothers, James, Tom, Mike, Larry and Paul, all of Mogadore, Ken of Cuyahoga Falls and John of Medina; sisters, Mrs. Dolores Davis and Mrs.

Robert Tompkins of Mogadore and Edna at home, and a grandfather, William Murphy of Areola, 111. Services will be at 3 p. m. Wednesday in Mogadore Christian Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hopkins Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 9 and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.

Directors of Consolidated Freightways, Inc. declared a dividend of 20 cents a share which will be paid Jan. 31 to stockholders of record Dec. 31. Previous dividend payments this year amounted to 23 cents a share.

CANAL FULTON Mrs. Cora B. Carr, onetime Canal Fulton Elementary School principal who taught 42 years in the area, died Sunday in MassiUon City Hospital. She was 74 and lived here on E. High st.

Mrs. Carr retired In 1959 after a teaching career that began at Maximo in Stark County and was climaxed In 1951 when she was named school principal here. She served in that post until 1956. ALWAYS active in community organizations, Mrs. Carr was a long-time trustee of the Canal Fulton Library Board and was a member ofj the Presbyterian Church, Hill and Hollow Garden Club and Chapter 180, Order of Eastern Star.

She was born in Canal Fulton and was graduated from Oberlin College. She also taught in Akron, Manchester and Canton schools. SHE leaves her husband, II. J. Services will be at 2 p.

STARR SUFFIELD Mrs. Emma J. Starr, 82, died Sunday at her home here after an illness lasting six months. She resided with a daughter, Mrs. Mary Louise Polen.

Formerly from Stow and Cuyahoga Falls, the latter her birthplace, she had lived here about 15 years. Mrs. Starr was a member of the United Church of Christ. Besides her daughter, she leaves three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a brother. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.

CARR Marshall Robinson Dies At 49 BRUNSWICK A World War II hero who seldom talk ed about his military exploits died Saturday night in Medina Community Hospital of a 2'i-year heart ailment. Marshall Dale Robinson, 49, of 1463 Harvard flew 33 missions as a turret gunner on a bomber with the 8th Air Force in Europe. A staff sergeant, he was holder of the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters. His wife Era is clerk at Towslee Elementary School and Beacon Journal reporter in Brunswick. Services will be at 11 a.

m. Tuesday at the Waite Funeral Home, the Rev. C. C. Whetstone of the Methodist Church officiating.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. today. Burial will be in Niles, with private graveside rites. A NATIVE of Lucas, Robinson attended Fenn College in Cleveland and Baldwin-Wallace College.

S. Air Force Gen. Lauris Norstad will direct the United States new space satellite system after he retires as Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, Informed sources claim. The sources said Philip L. Mama Adams, 12, and her sister, Colleen, 8, were on their way home to change their damp clothing before attending a movie at their' church hall. Instead of using a pedes' trian overpass of the New York Central railroad tracks, the two had decided to take a shortcut across the tracks.
