CAAAILLE CELLUCCI Junior Opera Guild member By MARK CRAWFORD It wasn't always opera for Ca-mille Cellucci: "When I was little, I used to fall asleep," she said.

At age 15, Miss Cellucci has really awakened to the lyric muse. Recently, she turned the presidency of Nevada Opera's Junior Guild over to Kelly Condon. Why a Junior Guild? "To serve at parties," said Miss Cellucci. "To cook, to usher get children interested in opera so they don't grow up thinking it's a terrible boring thing. Most kids think it is, and it's not." The 16-member group is seeking new members of junior high school and high school age and especially young men, who are needed for the rougher jobs like lugging picnic tables.

Miss Cellucci's interest began with her parents, Orlando and Margi Cellucci of Reno. Miss Cellucci's mother is president of the Nevada Opera Association. But work with the Junior League now echoes Miss Cellucci's experience in the New Penny Singers, her piano lessons, her work in drama at Reno High School, and a major role as Mrs. Monk in the AAUW production of "Oliver Twist," opening Nov. 30.

She mentioned, among favorite operas, Giacomo Puccini's "La Boheme," and a favorite singer is prima soprano Nancy Shade, who appeared last for Nevada Opera in "Boheme." Where might it all end? Miss Cellucci said the next step is voice lessons with local soprano Naunie Gardner Steele, a Nevada Opera regular. vice in the opera. Members still pay no dues. And their work gets Junior Guild members behind the scenes "to see how they burned Joan of Arc," Miss Cellucci gave as an example. Coming up next? A Sugar Plum Party for children following matinees of "The Nutcracker" ballet Dec.

14-16, explained Miss Cellucci, wide awake. Miss Cellucci wants someday to join the Up With People troupe. In college, she added, she hopes to study both law and voice, eventually graduating from Harvard Law School. In the meantime, she's been helping the Junior Guild sponsor, Maya Olsen Lear. The organization began only last September when Ms.

Lear decided youth interest should become youth ser Walker Lake photography show set ON ALL BUFFALO STOVES! THIS COUPON IS WORTH THIS WEEK ONLY! I INTRODUCTORY SPECIAL!
