George was born January 8, 1930, in Granite City, IL to Slovak parents. His father, George, immigrated in 1910 through Ellis Island and his mother, Helen (Zoschak), was a first generation Slovak.

They relocated from Yonkers, NY to Granite City, IL in 1922 to be among other family living in that area. George grew up in Granite City, IL before entering college at Rolla School of Mines, Rolla, MO (now Missouri Science Technology after two and a half years under their tender care. George was born January 8, 1930, in Granite City, IL to Slovak parents. His father, George, immigrated in 1910 through Ellis Island and his mother, Helen (Zoschak), was a first generation Slovak. They relocated from Yonkers, NY to Granite City, IL in 1922 to be among other family living in that area.

George grew up in Granite City, IL before entering college at Rolla School of Mines, Rolla, MO (now Missouri Science Technology University.) He graduated in 1952 with a BS degree in Ceramics Engineering. Preceded in death by his parents; siblings; and a son, John Kevin (1985). He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary L. (White) MacZura; and children, George, Jr. (Marie), Mary Gail Viadero, Larry, James (Vickie), Mary Alice (the late John Kevin) Celender, Robert (Patricia), Janet (Peg), Lorene (Bill) Fetchko, Richard (Karen), Lynn (Aaron) Asbury.

He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, Jennifer and John (Nikki) MacZura, George IV and Raymond (Taryn) MacZura, Vanessa and Adriana Viadero, Nisha MacZura, Matthew and Mitchell MacZura, William and Emma Fetchko, Benjamin and Christopher Asbury, Georgia, Eleonore, Josephine and Katherine MacZura; and one great-grandchild, John Carl MacZura. George worked for Alcoa Industrial Chemicals his entire career, retiring in 1997 after 44 and a half years. George received the (Alcoa) Francis Frary Award 1993 for a lifetime of individual technical contribution to the company. He was an internationally recognized expert in the fields of refractories and ceramics. He was a leader in the development and application of reactive, calcined and tabular aluminas since joining the company in 1952.

His leadership role in the invention and commercialization of calcium aluminate and its specialty derivatives, in family of reactive aluminas has helped establish these Alcoa products as standards for spark plugs and other ceramic applications. George was also an international ambassador for the company as President of the American Ceramic Society, Chairman of the Unified International Technical Congress for Refractories and as a founding member of the International Refractories Congress. He was very active in the St. Louis Section of the American Ceramic Society, helping organize an annual meeting on Refractories in the early 60s. He held seven patents, 30 technical papers and authored more than 60 internal technical reports.

He belonged to Keramos, Sigma XI (Alcoa) and Tau Beta PI, Phi Kappa Phi. George received many other awards during his entire career. He was dubbed Ice Cream Lover of the World by his counterparts of each society all over the world, they even named some ice creams in sheer fun, Lemon and Limestone Sherbet, Toffee Tabular Crunch and Calcined and Cream. George was a builder of relationships, a teacher, a coach and a team player. He was in the US Navy (Air Division) Reserves for eight years, as a radio man, during the years he was in college, and thereafter for the duration of his service.

He was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Caseyville, IL, he belonged to many organizations there as well. He was a Eucharistic minister in Blawnox at St. Church and was on the Parish Council for a year, plus worked with The St. Vincent DePaul Society until he had to resign due to his failing health.

As a father, he endeavored to coach and organize a league for soccer to grow in the E. St. Louis area where the family lived until 1976. He was involved in that for 12 years, before relocating to Pittsburgh. They honored him by naming the soccer field, He was always involved with the children and their growing up years, motivating them, teaching them important things like how to change a tire, check spark plugs, cut grass, wash dishes, make breakfast, be congenial and pray.

George was a family man, always enjoyed family gatherings, reunions, etc. He was a team member at home and at work. Always ready to lend a hand with a smile. He was loved dearly by all his family and others that knew him. Visitation on Monday, March 16, 2015, from p.m.

Beloved husband of the late Delores (Zilian) Maloney; preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Mildred (Klaas) Maloney, and his sister, Lois (Maloney) Kelly. He is survived by his three daughters, Janice and Eric Perl of Wexford, Judy Maloney of State College, and Joanne and Tim Manjerovic of Ross Township. Owen (Pap Pap) was devoted to and dearly loved by his five grandchildren, Rachael, Andy, Ali, Alex and Bessie; and survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was born on December 20, 1925, in Pittsburgh, graduated from North Catholic High School and served in the Army Air Corps in WWII. He was employed for 25 years with the Canada Dry Corporation and was a Teamster. For most of his adult life he attended the Church of the Assumption in Bellevue. He was an avid golfer, bowler, reader, and lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan especially of his beloved Pirates. A great happiness for him was attending a Pirates game with his very much loved grandchildren and children by his side.

Owen was a very loving and kind hearted man whose family will miss him terribly. We are sure that our dad and grandpap will be looking down at us on St. Patrick's Day with a Guinness in his hand. Born on May 8, 1940, in Pittsburgh, PA, the oldest of seven children, to James and Arlene (White) Musico.

She graduated from Carnegie High School in 1957. Margaret was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She loved traveling, especially to European destinations, with Italy being her favorite country to visit. Margaret enjoyed golf, was an avid and excellent bridge player and loved to cook. She served as a volunteer for many years at the Sandusky Library in their Literacy Program helping under privileged adults learn to read and was a volunteer at Ontario School, in Sandusky.

After her husband, John retired in 2002 they spent winters in Naples, Florida. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, a former member of Plum Brook Country Club for 31 years and a longtime member of the Sandusky Yacht Club. Margaret is survived by her husband of 56 years, John P. Manion; a son, James (Donna) Manion; three daughters, Terri (Mike) Bleile, Kathleen (Teddy) Pirkel and Marcy Manion; three grandchildren, Mitchell Manion, Scott (Abbey Seeholzer) Manion and Rachel Manion; three step- grandchildren, Baillie, Mackenzie and Caiden Pirkel; great-granddaughter, Ellie Manion; two sisters, Mary Louise Pastorok and Marie Stohr; three brothers, David, Sam and Mathew; and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, James. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, from 3-7 p.m. at the DAVID F. She became the CFO of Hardware, and was key in its development and expansion. Marcie was also an accomplished Christmas decorator.
