J. Grapp Basely Deserts His Wife and Children. CHURCH SUSPENDS HIM. Said to Have Gone With a Young Girl Believed to Have Come Here. His Record.

Rev. A. I. recently of Greenville, later of Bridgewater. Nova Scotia, h.is deserted his wife and chiland is now a fugitive from justice.

The intimation of this was telegrams revived here recently asking if he was in Greenville and if so to arrest him. Some of his intimate friends here denied the charges positively and even showed telegrams hom Bridgewater stating that the whole affair was false. Those who were familiar with Grapp's history here will not wonder at these desperate attempts to bolsterup his character. Conclusive evidence that Mr Grapp has contemptibly deserted his is found in the Bridgewater Bullctin of December 1.1. In it occurs an official notice from Kev.

Jacob Mourer. An oflicer of the Lutheran Church for that section of Nova Scotia. Rev. Mr. Monter states that Grepp "has been suspended from the Christian ministry Go conduct unbecoming a minister of the gospel." Wade l'atton, solictiors, also of Bridgewater, representing Mrs.

Gripp, have a legal notice in the same issue which is in the same tenor. The paper 011 December 21 contained the same notice and this as after the alleged return of Grapp as claimed by the telegram referred to above. 'The case must be a bad one A5 the editor of the Bulletin feels called upon to make editorial comment on the aflair and closes by saying that Grapp has skipped the town. As stated in the beginning Grapp was tirst believed to be in biding in Greenville, but it is quite certain he is not here now. Grapp's record here was not above suspicion and he was accused of holding beer soires at his house on College avenue This matter was investigated by Rev.

Dr. Kunzman, of Pittsburg, who made a statement in the Pittsburg Times at the time, exonerating Mr. and stating that the beer bad been prescribed for Mrs. Grapp by her physician and that others may have possibly tasted it while there, but did not drink in such quantities to become intoxicated. The county auditors have taken up their abode in Mercer for the months and are exceedingly busy auditing and adjusting the business affairs of the county.
