CD Onstage Ramada comedy hours leave 'em laughing 3 CD CD i- v. 0 2 be to I I CO oo CO (jj'jj mm Ben Gilbert brings his popular comedy act to the Reno Ramada's Comedy Circuit through May 27. Carrying a bag of gimmicks that keep the audience in stitches, Gilbert is an expert at spoofing old television shows and sitcoms. For example, the comic rounds out his set with a hilarious version of the popular sci-fi show, "Star Trek," with Pee Wee Herman filling in for Mr. Spock and Jack Nicholson playing Bones.

Gilbert has recently added film acting to his credits, co-starring in the new production, "The Power." Appearing with Gilbert is Jack Rikess, a veteran of television and many comedy clubs. Rikess has many observations of daily life that tickle the mind as well as the funny bone. The Comedy Circuit showtimes are 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

There is a special 12:30 a.m show on Saturday (Sunday morning). Tickets can be purchased at the Reno Ramada Comedy ticket booths, located near the front desk. Seating begins 30 minutes before showtime. Finding 40 funny Dan Horn will be held over through May 27 in Reno Ramada's afternoon comedy show, 40 Isn't Fatal. A tremendous hit with Reno audiences, Horn is a gifted ventriloquist.

During the show Horn performs with his collection of unforgettable characters to the delight of the audience. Horn began practicing ventriloquism at the age of 5. In 1979 he was contracted by the City of Phoenix to present a program about traffic safety to elemen- Gilbert Shropshire Horn and friends stop one-liners with a cackle, she is registered insanity. She wears lipstick that is diaper-rash red; her cheeks glow like they've been squirted with tomato juice; her expressive face twists and turns; and those flashing green eyes dart from victim to convulsed victim. Showtimes for 40 Isn't Fatal are 2 p.m.

on Tuesday-Thursday; noon and 2 p.m. Friday; and 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $5.95 and are available at the Ramada ticket booth near the front desk.

Seating begins 30 minutes before showtime. For details, call 788-2000. tary school students. Over a five year span, Horn appeared at over one hundred Arizona schools. Horn's most memorable sidekick is Orson, a feisty codger who keeps the crowd laughing.

Horn is considered by many to be one of finest technical ventriloquists around. Appearing with Horn is local favorite, Bobbie Shropshire. Shropshire has assumed many rules in her career as an entertainer. She's been a Playboy bunny, a cat, a top-flight pianist and a stand-up comedienne; but it is as The Nurse that she has tickled and entertained masses of local audiences. Wearing a nurse outfit and punctuating her non- Tempest taunts and teases in 'Lipstick' revue i "Queen of Burlesque." Herb McQuay began singing on the street corners of New York.

He toured the world cabaret circuit for eight years and worked with some of today's biggest stars. "Lipstick" is produced by Al Bello and Danny Marona and is choreographed by Linda Cotner. Eddie and the Edsels Show, a spoof of '50s and '60s rock 'n' roll, keeps the High Sierra's Juniper Lounge jumpin' through May 28. The group consists of four very funny and talented musicians who bring to the stage a unique blend of comedy and music. The group has that rare ability to hold the audiences attention all night long, night after Included in the "cast" of Eddie and the Edsels Show are Lee Ingram on drums and Jim Moore on bass, guitar and keyboards.

All members of the group share duties on vocals. For show times or details, call 588-6211. Striptease legend Tempest Storm says she has a whole new wardrobe to take off as "The Last Superstar of Burlesque" and Lake Tahoe's popular adult revue, "Lipstick," returns to the Pine Cone Lounge, playing now in another indefinite run. There are new provocative dance numbers and new music as well as more flashy costumes, but the original dancers return as does singer Herb McQuay. And headliner Tempest Storm shows no signs of slowing down even after more than 35 years of tantilizing audiences with her exotic striptease.

Storm began her career in Hollywood's Follies Theater and started stripping to pay for extensive dental work Thirty-six years later Storm is still a vivacious sex symbol with an elegant, class act.
