Placerville fire kills two persons PLACERVILLE (AP) Two persons died and seven others were injured today when fire destroyed a two-story home.

in the Sierra foothills 12 miles east of Placerville. The two victims were not immediately identified by the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office. Alfred Anderson, his wife and five of their children were taken to Marshall Hospital in Placerville. The parents later were transferred to Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento where Anderson was in serious condition with third degree burns over much of his body. Aladdin Hotel sold in Vegas LAS VEGAS (AP) The Aladdin Hotel and casino here has been sold to Las Vegas businessman Sam Diamond and Detroit investor Charles Goldfarb, the Recrion Corp.

has reported. The sale was finalized Sunday, Recrion said. Price of the hotel was $5,125,000 with $4,150,000 of the proceeds to be used to pay all long-term indebtedness. Diamond said he will be president of the hotel while Goldfarb will be vice president and secretary-treasurer. Diamond is a former vice president and casino manager of the Silver Slipper and has been involved with gaming in Las Vegas for 20 years.

Goldfarb is a former stockholder in the Silver Slipper. Veterans meet, name chaplain Fay Wallace was elected chaplain of the Nevada department Veterans of World War One at a board of administration in Tonopah. Certificates of merit for membership were voted to Carson City, Caliente, Carlin, Ely, Las Vegas and Reno barracks. The board also voted a donation to the "happy holiday" Reno Veterans Administration hospital. William I.

The 2 p.m. Dow Jones average of 30 industrial stocks was down 3.65 at 836.74. Declines outpaced advances by less than 6 to 5 among the issues traded on the New York Stock Exchange Brokers said many investors were on the sidelines waiting for signs of a market trend and for decisions on Phase 2 of the President's economic program. He has just retired after 25 years with the company that operates ferries within Sydney Harbour to the suburb of Manly.

He starte as a deckhand, became master of a ferry boat and more recently skipper of a hydrofoil ferry. REAL-LIFE VILLAINS BROCKVILLE, Ont. (AP) Recent night-time visitors to the Never-Never Land young people's tourist attraction were not exactly nursery rhyme characters. The gift shop was broken into and $952 worth of transistor radios, toys, costume jewelry, Eskimo figures and other articles were stolen. Tomasa Arrizabalaga Special to the Gazette FALLON Tomasa E.

Arrizabalaga, 87, died Sunday in the Churchill Public Hospital. She was born March 3, 1884, in Spain. Arriving in the United States in 1913, she first lived in Austin and then the Campbell Creek and Dixie Valley areas before settling in Fallon in 1926. Her husband, Ramon, died in 1956. Survivors include sons Felix and Ramon both of a daughter Maria Moiola, also of Fallon, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a brother, Marcelino Erquiaga, Fallon.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Austin Funeral Home. Requiem Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Church with Father James Sheehy officiating.

Burial will be in the family plot of the Fallon Cemetery. Ro Ann Widner Ro Ann Widner, 27, formerly of Fallon, died Thursday in Okinawa where she resided with her Widner. husband, M.Sgt. Dalford, A native of Los Angeles, she graduated from Churchill County High School, in 1 Fallon, and attended Concordia College, Oakland, Calif. She lived in Fallon and in Reno before going to Okinawa with her husband.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: children, Allan, Joey, and Lorna, all in Okinawa; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Wissbeck, of Lockwood; brothers, Larry Wissbeck, of Lockwood, and Dale Wissbeck, of San Francisco; a sister, Paula Kichemaster, of Hawthorne. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Walton Funeral Home. Orrin L.

McBeth The funeral for Orrin L. McBeth 38, of 705 E. Huffaker Lane, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, in St. John's Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. W. E. Clawson Jr. will officiate.

Burial will follow in the family plot in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at the Ross, Burke and Knobel Mortuary. McBeth, salesman for a Reno paper products firm, was found shot to death Friday night in the restroom of a roadside rest area off Interstate 80, about 20 miles east of Reno. Born, July 21, 1933, in Salina, McBeth had resided in Reno since 1959.

His wife Diane, is the daughter of Rocco Spina, director of the Reno Parks and Recreation Department, Since coming to Reno in 1959 he had been employed with the Blake, Moffitt and Towne Paper Co. Surviving, in addition to his widow, are sons John, 12, and Bruce, 9, all of Reno, parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orrin McBeth Salina, brothers Harold, of Republic, and Donald, of Salina; a sister, Mrs. Richard Pettle, of Ft.

Worth, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins in Kansas and California. Woman killed, boys wounded in North Vegas NORTH LAS VEGAS (AP) A 51-year-old woman was shot and killed and two teen boys were wounded Sunday in a mobile home. Viola Jamerson was shot in the chest. Her husband Cleo, 59, was booked for investigation of murder and two counts of attempted murder. In serious condition in Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital was Larry Boles, 13, who was shot in the abdomen.

Ted Baker Ted Baker TED BAKER Ted Baker, about 70, who for many years was regarded as Nevada's outstanding horseman, died Friday after a lengthy illness. His local career included activity as an organizer of horsemen's groups and teams, a sor of junior groups, and competition in riding. The Baker ranch in south Reno (south of Moana Stadium) was the center of horsemen's activity long period of time. He operated a riding stable there for many years. Baker often served as marshal for Reno's parades, and led various mounted groups in dozens of parades.

He was re-elected president of the Nevada White Hats several times, also was a member of the Washoe Horsemen's Association, the Nevada State Horseman's Association, and was an adviser to the Washoe Junior Trail Riders, and Washde Horseman Juniors. In 1956 he was the winner of the 100-mile Sierra Trail Ride's California-Nevada Governor's Trophy. He was honored in 1957 by presentation of the National Recreation Association citation. In his youth, Baker helped organize and stage polo matches in Reno. In the early 1930's, they were held at Baker's Polo Field, on the old University Farm which Baker leased during that period.

A private funeral was to be held today at the Walton Funeral Home in Reno. Survivors include his widow, Daphne, and a daughter, both in the Reno area. Martin C. Murray The funeral for Martin C. Murray, of 1485 Ebbets Drive, was to be conducted today in the 0'Brien-Rogers and Crosby Funeral Home.

The Rev. John Bain of St. Albert's Catholic Church was to officiate. Burial will be in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery. Murray was killed Friday evening on top of an elevator at the Royal Inn motel, 1275 Stardust St.

Murray, a native of California, had resided in Reno for three months and was a student at Clayton Junior High School. He is survived by: his parents, Joseph and Joyce Murray, of Reno; brothers, Mark, in Montana, and Sean, of Reno; a sister, Heidi, of Reno; a mother, Adeline Christopherson, in California, and a great-grandmother, Mrs. Moats, in California. Harris Mackintosh Harris G. Mackintosh, 66, a resident of Gardrerville for the last 18 months, died in Carson I City Friday evening.

Mackintosh was born Dec. 7, 1904 in Des Moines, Iowa, and was a retired bank executive. He is survived by his widow, Bertha, of Gardnerville; a son Kenneth Mackintosh, Winnepeg, Canada; and a daughter, Jane Albrecht of Mill Valley, Calif. Four grandchildren also survive. A funeral will be held from Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City, on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
