The parents were implored not to permit this evil to continue and asked to not allow their youths to be led from the righteous paths by suffering them to indulge in the supposedly innocent amusement, called, dancing. Hilands and wife arrived home Monday from North where' they spent the winter. S. Caldwell, of Delaware township, caught four dogs at his sheep, Saturday night. They mangled three sheep so badly they had to be killed, and four more arc badly wounded. There should be a more stringent dog law.

Special to Evening Record. STONKBORO, April 22. Owen McBarren, aged 29 years, single, was killed in a runaway Tuesday evening on Mercer street, Stoneboro. He and John McCartney were hauling a load of lumber from an old sawmill site in the Lynch woods and were coming in about 0.o'clock in the evening, at a brisk trot down Mercer street when the clevis came loose and allowed the singletree to drop on one of the horses' heels, when he started to run and kick. Mr.

McBarren either jumped to try to stop the horses or was thrown or pulled off. The wheel'passed over his head and death was 1 Coroner as-it was purely did not any inquest. Mr. McCartney and his two children were'-all nearly buried'in the lumber jut were not injured. The body was removed to the undertaking rooms of the Houscr Bros.
