In the letter, Mrs. Lear wrote, "Cheers to the bartender who helped out at the River Inn! Stories like this make Reno the special place It is. "Enclosed is my check toward Christmas for the River Inn gang." Ironically, Mrs. Lear is reportedly considering moving the Lear Avia operations out of Northern Nevada because of housing problems for her employees. Mrs.

The River Inn was shut down last week by Federal Bankruptcy Court. The residents of the hotel and the adjacent recreational vehicle park were forced to find new accommodations In and around Reno. By midweek, those that remained were issued an ultimatum by a court-appointed trustee of the property to vacate the premises or the electricity and sewage would be shut off. The residents were faced with a cold, dark Christmas without a home. Wednesday, however, former River Inn bartender Paul Corban wrote a $500 check guaranteeing payment of power and sewage bills until Jan.
