Stoarns. This is an unusually good lesson for the boys, Inasmuch as It is the story of a boy king who began to reigu when he was ouly eight years old and be did right in the sight of the Lord, turn- fag nether to the right hand nor to the left. Reference should be made to that other boy, King Joash, who began to reign when he wag only seven years old and relgned forty years in Jerusalem. We also did right in the sight of the Lord as loug as Jebolada the priest Instructed him, but in his later years Jeholada's son to be atoned to death because ho brought rebuke from the Lord (I Kings xli; JI Chron. Ixiv).

Josiah reigned -one years fu Je rusalem; but, although he EL good king and wrought great reforms and kept the greatest passover since the days of Samuel (I Chron. xxxv, 18), yet the last part of his reign was clouded by willfulness, which cost him his lito and caused Jeremiah the prophet to lament for hits, for Jeremiah prophesied during the last elguteen years of his reign (Jer. 1, 1, 21. That even a very young person can serve the Lord we learn also from the story of Samuel, who as a child ministered unto the Lord (1 Sam. ii, 18, 21, 26; 11, 1).

'The prophet Jeremiah snid when called to his office, "Ah, Lord God, behold, I cannot spenk, for I am a child," but the Lord strengthened aim and assured bim (Jer. 6-9). Tim. othy from 21 child knew the Scriptures, and our Blessed Lord said at the age of "I must be about my Father's business" (Luke Ji, 4P1. The life of the Lord Jesus was absolutely perfect all through.

The life of Samuel was about as nearly perfect as ordinary mortals, by the grace of God, get to It, and with him I sociate Joseph and Daniel. But when reedeemed by the great sacrifice of Christ we must take no other pattern than His life who left us an example that we should follow His steps (I Pet. 14, 21). The only way is to contionally "consider Him" and "run with patience. looking unto Jeaus" (Feb.

xil, 1-3). One of the most remarkable things about Josiah was that he was mentioned by name 3:00 years before was born by an unnamed prophet who predicted that he would do certain things, which did exactly as predicted Kings xiii. 1, 2, and I Kings xxili. 1-17). Josiah was one of seven men In the Bible story who were mentioned by name before they were born.

Let those who are interested search them out. A very Interesting incident. to nie concerning the other boy king, Joach, is the way the money was obtained to repair the house of the Lord. I refer to the chest, with the hole in the lid, placed by the altar to receive the of. forings of the people, and it worked splendidly, and money was gathered in abundance.

Whether Josiah gothered his money for repairs in the: some way or nut it is not said, but the same thing is written in each ease concernIng the workmen viz, that no log was kept with them because they dealt faithfully (11 Kings xli, 9-15; xxil, 7). Note that Josiah in doing right in the sight of the Lord turned neither to the right hand nor to the left (verse 2). Remember oft repeated phrases in Leviticus. "nuto the Lord" and "before the Lord," and the command to Abraham. "Walk before me and be thou sincere" (Gen.

xvil. 1. margin). When be was sixteen years old he begou to seek the God of David, his tather, and when be was twenty he be 10 purge Judah and Jerusalem from Idols (verse 3), so that he must bavo sought the Lord acrording to Jer. xxix, 13.

From verse 2 it would scorn that ho personally superintended the breaking down of the idol altars, and theretore the work would be done thorougbly. Verse 5 refers to the predic. tion of the man of God in I Kings xill. 2, which we have atrendy mentioned. Verses 6 and 7 speak of his carrying bla cleansing into four of the other tribes and of his return to Jerusalem.

It would seem as if he really did what ho could to cleanse the land from idolntry and turn the people back to God. It was the last call from God for Just -two years after his death the last batch of captives were carrled to Babylon, he being surrended four bad kings, who relgned twenty-two years. Jo the eightuenth year of his relga, when he was twenty-six years old, he begun to repair the house of the Lord bis God (verse 8). Pour times in verses 8 to 10 the house is mentioned. The tabernacle, for about 500 years, and then the temple were the heart of the national life.

and at the beginning and close of the life on earth of the Lord Jesus He cleansed the temple. Ag was their treatment of the temple, so was their treatment of God, for there He revealed to them. It as believers we would cleanse ourselves from all Ditbiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting boliness in the fear of God, we would know more what it means to be temples of the living God, dwelling and walking In us and mauitesting Himself to us R8 our Father, the Lord God Almighty Cor. vi, 16: vil, 1).
