Algona (la.) Upper Des Moines Oct. 16, 1975 Mother Of Algonan Dies At Humboldt Mrs. W.J. Vonderhaar, Sr. of Humboldt, 89, mother of Mrs.

Joe Bradley, Sr. of Algona, died Sunday at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral service for Mrs. Vonderhaar was held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in St.

Mary's Catholic Church at Humboldt with Fr. Richard Macke Celebrant of the Funeral Mass. Burial was in the church cemetery, the Lindhart Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Harold Ennis, Maurice, Calahan, Andy Husske, Neil Ruse, Edward Mersch and Joe Ennis. Veronica, daughter of Joseph and Madalena Weishaar Kiener, was born at West Point, la.

on Feb. 8, 1886. She was educated at West Point where she was married to William John Vonderhaar on Oct. 28, 1908. The couple moved to Humboldt in 1920 and he operated a hardware business there.

Mr. Vonderhaar died in 1944. Mrs. Vonderhaar is gurvived by one son and four daughters; William, Humboldt; Paulette, Mrs. Joseph Bradley, Algona; Charlotte, Mrs.

Robert Schultz, Long Beach, Julia, Mrs. James Grethan, Carroll, la. and Constance, Mrs. Mark Brandsgard of Humboldt. There are 18 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.

M. Henderson Of LuVerne Dies At 81 Funeral services for Minnie Henderson of LuVerne, 81, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Fred C. Rowley officiating.

Burial was in the LuVerne Cemetery, the Blake Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were Wayne Sanford, Bert Ramus, Alvin Weber, Bernard Wolf, Loyd Larson and Joe Thorn. Minnie, daughter of Thomas and Malinda Johnson Stenson, was born at Eagle Grove on June 20, 1894. She attended school at Goldfield and Eagle Grove and was married to Phil Henderson at LuVerne on Sept. 2, 1914.

Cecelia John B. Altman, 82 year old retired Algona area farmer, died early Sunday morning at the Good Samaritan Center in Algona. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Cecelia's Catholic Church with the Msgr.

2, 1892, John B. Altman was a son of Nicholas and Barbara Erpelding Altman. He attended school in St. Joe and farmed on the family farm until 1910. He was married to Eulalia Gales Sept.

1929 at St. Joe and the couple purchased a farm near Irvington in 1941. They farmed there until retiring in 1963. He is survived by his wife, Eulalia: five sons and one daughter; Eldon, Minneapolis; Merlyn, Algona; Robert, LuVerne; John, Tempe, Tom, Irvington and Dianna, Mrs. John Roeder, Algona.

There are 26 grandchildren. Three sisters also survive; Mrs. Susie Kohlhaas, Algona; Justine, Mrs. Joseph Melavin, Humboldt; Mary, Mrs. Cliff Baker, Livermore.

Mr. Altman had hobbies of target shooting and bowling. He was Nebraska State Trap Shoot champion in 1951. Legal Notice passed an appropriation of $500,000 for Child Care Center financial assistance for fiscal year 1976. Pursuant to Chapter of the lowa Code, the lowa Department of Social Services has prescribed forms for U88 by licensed centers In applying to their respective county boards of Social Welfare for the funds appropriated by the General Assembly.

Funds allocated for each county from the appropriation may be used for the following purposes: 1. "To acquire or improve physical facilities to house the center." 2. "To acquire recreational or educational equipment or suppiles." The allocation of funds for each county was determined by the rules outlined in the code. Ica Hollette, daughter of James and Celia Martin Hollette, was born July 20, 1885 in Huntington County, Indiana. She attended schools there and was married to Frank Sprong Dec. 24, 1904 at Huntington. In 1911 the couple moved to the West Bend area where they farmed until moving to Livermore in 1936. Following the death of her husband in 1954, Mrs.

Sprong continued to live in Livermore until 1972 when she moved to Oran, la. She resided there one year before moving to Cresco where she died Monday at the Reutlinger Nursing Home. She is survived by eight daughters and two sons: Ada, Mrs. Walter Halstead of Oran; twins, Faye, Mrs. Archie Wilson, Webster City and Frances Murray, Cosmopolis, Rudy, Renton, Mrs.

Etoilee Murray, Blackduck, Darline, Mrs. Elvin Weaver, Cresco; twins, Gerlad, Bronson, and Geraldine, Mrs. John Manning, St. Louis, Naomi, Mrs. Roy Salmon, Livermore; and Mrs.

Treva Thurman, Rock Hill, Mo. Mrs. Sprong has 54 grandchildren, 145 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, one son, Earl, and a daughter, Louise, 14 grandchildren, her parents, one sister and two brothers. Born Sept. 15, 1891 at Niles Center, William was a son of Fred and Sophie Sengbusch. His family moved to Truman, Minn. where he attended school and Mr. Sengbusch came to Algona from there 40 years ago.

He was married to Elfrieda Kilian April 15, 1966 in the Trinity Lutheran Church here. Mrs. Sengbusch survives her husband, who WAS a retired laborer. Surviving besides his wife are three sons, George Sengbusch of Milaca, Donald, Cheyenne, and Richard, Houston, Tex. There are eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

One sister, Mrs. Esther Haugen of Butterfield, also survives. Rep. Fire Department Puts Out Three Fires Sunday The Algona fire department answered three fire calls Sunday afternoon, putting out each blaze before anything other than dry grass burned.
