They represent combination by nature, ns distinct as Belhidona, or any other organic remedy-In Europe mineral waters have a distinct representation for the cure of certain diseased conditions.

Many of the waters have been proved and are found In Allen's Euclyco-po-dia of Pure Materia Medicii. The Sanicula water has been similarity treated, a full report of which appears on another page. We notice that the analysis of this witter places it among the chlorides, and in that, it differs from most of the American waters. That it must have marked effect on disease, any one at all familiar with zoo-chemistry will at once decide. Another old settler, for whom Ottawa has many kind remembrances, passed away at Earlville on Friday of last week, in the per. son of Albert F.

Dow. He was a native of Boston, and had come to Illinois in 18o5, settling on a farm in the vicinity of Earlvillei He afterwards came to Ottaw and was. for several years employed as a clerk and hook-keeper iu the ollice of the county treasurer and collector, and in 155 was elected to the office of county treasurer, which he held two years. He was soon afterwards appointed canal inspector at Ottawa, and then collector, until, about eight years ago, he was transferred to the collector's office, Chicago, which he held until some two years ago, when he became disabled by paralysis, and the position was given to another. His own as well other severe family affliction bore heavily upon him in the hitter years of his life, and lie is understood to have been reduced to straitened circumstances, though at no time to destitution.

As a clerk and book-keeper he had no superior, and in every official position he held he was noted for his accuracy and scrupulous fidelity to his trust. He was a man of more than ordinary education, kind-hearted, genial, and of an open, generous, nature. For the last year or two his paralysis had mca-urably deprived him both of the use of pen and speech, so that with one of his vivacious, social nature, his affliction was peculiarly severe and distressing. He leaves a wife, a grown up son, one married daughter and another a hopeless invalid. His funeral took place at Earlville on Sunday, his remains being conveyed to a family lot at South Paw Paw for burial.

Death of Dean Patrick Terry. Many hearts in Ottawa were saddened on Monday on receipt of the intelligence from Chicago of the death of the Rev.

Patrick Terry, who had passed so large a portion of his active and useful life in this city, and where ho had so many warm personal friends and ardent admirers. The event was nut unexpected. It was known that for several months passed Father Terry had been seriously threatened by an uf-lliction of the heart, and that for the last three weeks he had heen almost continuously confined to his house. Meantime, though advised by his physician that he had not long to live, he was recommended to take light exercise, and on Sunday afternoon he had walked to the house of Mr. M.

F. Donahue, which is near his own. While sitting in an easy chimin pleasant conversation with Mr. Donahue and P. D.

Hayes, his head suddenly fell for-war3 on his breast, lie was lifted up and found to be insensible. With the tciidercst care he was removed to his own residence, where he lingered about ten minutes, and passed away without recovering conscious, ness. Father Terry as born at Ardniorc, county Watcrford, Ireland, December 22, 1N.M, and was 5(1 years, months and 2 days old. He received his education at St. John's College, Watcrford, and was ordained to the priesthood In lS-lli.

He came, at once to the L'nited States, and was located iu Chicago, From there he as sent to Morris, and six years afterward to Ottawa, where he was placed In (barge of St. Coluinba church, charge hit he held for a quarter of a century. To detail his labors and successes here would oe-cupy a volume. It is sullieient to say that the career of St. Coluinba during his whole connection with it one of steady growth, and that it Is, outside of Chicago, perhaps the strongest and wealthiest parish in the state.

It was while engaged in his successful work in Ottawa that he was created Dean by Bishop Foley, and, some three years ago, was transferred from Ottawa to St. Patrick's church, in Chicago. The last rites of the church over the remains of Dean Terry were performed in St. Patrick's church, Chicago, on Wednesday, the very Rev. Archbishop Feeluin conducting lie services, ussisted by Father Powers, of Joliet, and others-.

The remains were then taken to the Rock Island depot and conveyed to La Salle for burial with his kindred. The concourse at La Salle to meet the remains and witness the final ceremonies numbered many thousands, among whom were hundreds of his old parishioners from Oltaw a. The train arrived at 4 o'clock. 1'riiiifscnt in Hfi." The memory of Father Terry will long be kindly cherished in Ottawa, not only in with his successful and valuable labors as a priest, but as a Useful, public spirited citizen. In all movements for the benelit of the city In the erection of our high school and other public institutions for the improvement and beautifying of our city, he always took a deep interest and lent an active, help, ing hand. The meeting was called for the purpose of considering the numbering of the houses of the city; and on motion the Illinois river and Columbus street were establish-ed as base lines. Many excellent people sneer at the notion of making La Salle county an attractive stun-nier resort for the "common people" whose summer rest consists of a few days' picnic ing. Such skeptics should make a visit about this time to Deer Park and look over the leg-ister of visitors there during this summer. Already they are numbered by thousands, though the season has yet at least six weeks to run, and a large per ccntage do not regis, ter nt all. Hardly a pleasant day passes that the visitors are not to be counted by tctis and hundreds. There is a perpetual stream of them from all over this part of Illinois.

The neighboring counties furnish the larger proportion, of course; but all parts of the state and many other slates have been represented. The Park is really becoming famous through out the whole land. It Is a great labor to keep so large a piece of property in good condition; but Mr. Clay-ton has been able to do so this season, by hard ork ami at all times it is a pleasant place to visit. Indeed the charms of the place seciu to grow on the visitor at each trip, and a trip to Deer Park is now a regular part of the summer programme in all "well regulated" La Salle county families.

The entrance this year is much better than ever, and a trip dow the hill into the Park is shorn of its afore time horrors, while the Lodges givu an air of companionship to the Park which relieves it. of much of its formeijloiielincss for however the conservative laments the presence of civilization in the Park, few, we apprehend, would desire to see it removed entirely and its conveniences taken away.
