John Hoth wrote to his parents recently of his arrival in England and of his visit to London. Following are excerpts from this letter. "Dear Folks: The first thing I noticed was that London was only a mile square but had a number of outlying districts such as Paddington, etc. Probably one of the most famous sights is the Westminster Ahpey. built in 1740 with little having been added since.

Under parts of the building they have found a Roman coffin, bricks and tile. So they think this might have been a location for a Roman village once. Under the floors there are buried the remains of many English dignitaries. Another sight of interest is the Tower of London. It is a huge fort or castle that was used for the protection of London and was built by William the Conqueror, All together it covers 18 acres with its gardens.

There is a large moat surrounding the castle which must be crossed on a draw bridge. One of the towers houses the "crown jewels." There are five crowns and three orbs. One crown has 6.000 diamonds. From the outside we saw a church built in 700 A. D.

and St. Paul's Cathedral. Hyde Park. No. 10 Downing Street.

House of Parliment. Buckingham Palace and many other places of interest." John.
