Hecla Mining Officials of Hecla Mining Co. of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, responded to reports that a small amount of gold production has been provisionally withheld from export from Venezuela, pending an administrative review. The Venezuelan government is reviewing the regulatory compliance of the country's entire gold mining sector. Officials for Hecla stated that the company is in full compliance with all tax. export and regulatory requirements ana is providing documentation to the proper authorities for release of the property. Marketing Awards The University of Nevada, Reno's Extended Studies marketing team won three gold awards and one bronze for outstanding creativity in the 2004 Marketing Awards of Excellence Program, sponsored by the University Continuing Education Association. Extended Studies won a gold award in the print publications category; a gold award for visual identification and logo implementation; a gold award for specialty collateral promotions; and a bronze award for electronic marketing and communications. Target grants The Target Corp. annual grant-giving program is accepting grant proposals. Grants are given to organizations with IRS 501c3 certification and to units of local government. Proposals will be considered for new and ongoing programs for support. The programs must meet T-0261 funding priorities.
