Rutherford, president of the Bluff City Lumber Company and recognized as one of the leading financiers of the State.

A deed in which the Bluff City Lumber Company conveya its immense holdings to the Clio Lumber Company, a Concern organized several days ago with a capital stock of $2,000,000, waa filed, the consideration being of which $1,250,000 is to be paid is stock of the Clio Lumber Company and the remaining $250,000 to be in first mortgage bonds. A mortgage was also filed by the Clio Lumber Company in favor of Al-vin D. Goldman of St. Louis for for which the Clio Lumber Company will issue 50 bonds secured by a total of 61,790 acres of timber lands in Jefferson, Grant, Dallas and Cleveland Counties. The document in a lengthy one, as it contains a description of the land in the various counties, and has been recorded in the four The Clio Lumber Company waa incorporated last week and chartered by the secretary of state.

Its charter, shows a capital stock of $2,000100, of which John F. Rutherford, B. L. Rutherford and S. F.

Vaulz of Pine Bluff are stockholders. R. L. Rutherford is president; J. F.

Rutherford Is vice president, and S. F. Vaulx is secretary and treasurer. It is understood that the $250,000 in cash which ia raised (by this big deal is to be used in to pay-off all claims now held against the Bluff City Lumber Company and other concerns in which J. F.

Rutherford is interested by J. B. Tork and Robert York, who were formerly stockholders and officere in. the Bluff City Lumber Company, but are now at the head of the York-Browning. Lumber Company of Memphis.

It is also believed that this deal will result in the early construction of the railroad from Pine Bluff west to the Rock Island road at Leola, which J. F. Rutherford has been interested in' for some time.
