services pending, Ross, Burkt and Knobel Mortuary. Christian A. Hansen Christian A. Hansen, of 1729 Shaber Way, Sparks, died Tues day in a local hospital. Born April 27, 1886, in Copen- hagen, Denmark, he came to the United States and worked as a blacksmith.

He was a mem ber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Han sen had lived in the Reno-Sparks area for 63 years. He is survived by a son, C. Alvin Hansen of Carson City; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Thurs day at 2 p.m.

in the Walton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery. Jack L. Morse ELKO A graveside funeral wa conducted here this morning for Jack L. Morse, who drowned last week near Monroe, Wash.

Morse was born in Elko Feb. 1. 1920 and attended localJ schools. His family moved to Washington some 25 years ago. Surviving are his widow, Ruby; a son; five daughters; two brothers, Ralph Morse of Sparks and Eddie Morse of Fal lon; and two sisters, Hannah McGregor of Mountain City and Thelma Montrose of Elko.

Frank J. Benting Frank J. Benting, 56, of 520 Gentry Way, died Monday at Mather AFB Hospital, Sacra mento, Calif. A native of Rantoul, 111., he had resided in Reno for 20 years and was employed as a structural repairman. Surviving are his widow, Lillian, of Reno; a daughter, Patricia Fortney, of Largo, a brother.

Georee, of Reno; sistes, Gertrude Bruck ner, of Sacramento, Mary Tum- berg, of Madison, Mrs. Paul Lewis, and Eunice Keller, both in Rantoul III. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Walton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery.

Roger M. Hefling Roger McGowan Hefling, 66, of 1325 'E' Sparks, died Monday at his home. Born in Ohio, he had been a resident of the Sparks area for 31 years. Hefling was a re tired assistant special agent for the Southern Pacific Railroad He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Hei is survived by his widow, Mary Hefling of Sparks; a son, William Hefling of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Virginia Keller of Lantana, a brother, Edward Hefling also of Ohio; and seven grandchildren. A funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Pyramid Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Engeseth officiating. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery.

Felix Grupczynski Felix John Grupczynski, re tired chemist, died Tuesday in a Reno convalescent home. He was 66. Grupczynski, a native of To ledo, Ohio, worked for the Wy andotte Chemical Company in Michigan for 42 years. He moved to Sparks after his retire ment one year ago and made his home at 140 E. Lenwood Drive.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus in Wyandotte, Mich Surviving are his widow, Mary, of Sparks; two sons, George of Sparks and Raymond of Reno; two brothers, Roman and Walter of Wyandotte; a sis ter, Mrs. Stella Sudak of South Gate, nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Rosary will be recited Thursday at 8 p.m. in the Pyramid Funeral Home. Requiem Mass will be offered Friday at 10 am.

Gray sentenced the 37-year-old priest to the maximum two years in prison last October after he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of failing to file income tax returns for 1963 and 1965. 334320-Mellan June 25 July 2-9-16-23 Earle J. Reynolds Earle J. (Spud) Reynolds, a native of Sparks, died July 8 in Santa Maria, according to word received here. Reynolds was born in Sparks in 1905, son of the late Mr. and Mrs.

John Reynolds. He graduated from Sparks High School, and graduated from Santa Clara University in 1928. He was a member of the foot ball and basketball teams at Sparks, and was student body president at Santa Clara, where he received his degree in busi ness administration. He followed a career in banking, and had been vice president of the Los Padres National Bank since October, 1968. He was as sociated in an executive capa city with banks in northern California and savings and loan associations in the San Joaquin Valley during his adult life.

He was an active participant in civic affairs and business development programs, and was an instructor in various American Institute of Banking courses and officer training programs. The Reynolds family arrived in Sparks when the town was formed in 1904 and moved to California more than 35 years ago. Surviving are his widow, Alice Garvey Reynolds; a daughter, Susan Reynolds Smith and a son, John, and his sister, Priscilla Reynolds Scofield of Atherton, Calif.
