Boston was a graduate of Moses Brown School and a 1939 where graduate of Harvard College, he wrestled and played varsity baseball and football. In 1939 he was named ECWA heavyweight wrestling champion. After graduation he coached football at Shaker Heights School in Cleveland. During World War II, he was a battery commander of the 314th Field Artillery Battalion, 80th Division of Gen. George Patton's Third Army.

He was the recipient of the Bronze Star and Legion of Merit. After the war, Mr. Boston coached junior varsity football at Harvard and in 1948 became defensive backfield coach at West Point. He was head football coach at the University of New Hampshire from 1949 until 1964, leading that team to several Yankee Conference titles and its last undefeated season to date. He was named Coach of the Year by the American Football Coaches Association, was a member of Harvard Varsity Hall of Fame and in 1995 was inducted into the UNH 100 Hall of Fame.

In 1965 he returned to active military duty at the Pentagon and served as Army Reserve liaison during the Vietnam War. He retired as a colonel and later moved to the Selective Service department. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home. Calling will be from 2 p.m.

until service time Friday. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. A memorial service is planned at Durham, N.H., at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Bloomington. Mr.

Boston was born in Providence, R.I., April 13, 1917, the son of Clarence and Ella Pickering Boston. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryn Boston; daughters, Bonny Boston of Exeter, N.H., and Bette Boston of a son, Clarence Boston of Marlboro, and grandchildren, Iman and Clarence Boston IV. Arrangements incomplete Nellie Crouch Franklin Nellie Crouch, 91, formerly of Gatesville in Brown County, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Paris Memorial in Franklin. She was the widow of Rupert Crouch, who died in 1972. Arrangements are incomplete at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.

Longtime Brown County artist Melba Dailey Nashville NASHVILLE Melba Dailey, 93, of Nashville died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002, at Brown County Health and Living Center. A Brown County artist for more than 25 years, Mrs. Dailey was a member of Nashville United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Brown County Art Gallery, Brown County Historical Society and Friends of the Library and was an active member and past president of Nashville Literary Club. She was a founding member of Indiana Heritage Arts and a supporting member of Brown County Art Guild.

Some of her work was included in the books "Brown County Arts and Artists" and "Brown County Art Gallery Artists." She was the originator of "Wall Jewels," small bas relief works in precious and semiprecious metals and gemstones and was one of the pioneers of the art of fused cathedral glass which she developed with other artists in Kokomo. She studied art and trained at Indiana University in Kokomo and Purdue University as well as at the Indianapolis Art League and Venice Area Art League in Florida where she had been a member and exhibitor. In Indianapolis, Mrs. Dailey was an exhibitor of Hoosier Salon, Indiana Artist Club, the Indianapolis Museum of Art's Alliance Shop and Bethlehem Lutheran Art for Religion exhibitions. She was a charter member of Indiana Artist Craftsmen.

She had been an active member and past president of Kokomo Art Association and was a charter member and past president of Sculptors Guild. She was an active member of First Congregational Church for 30 years. She also worked to support Bundles for Britain and the A American Red Cross. In 1981 she received. a Red Cross citation for 40 years of blood-bank service.

She also was a member and past president of St. Joseph's Hospital Cheer Guild board. She was co-founder of Howard County Mental Health Association, serving as president and on its board. She was past president and an honorary member of Symposium, Kokomo's oldest literary club, and was past president and an honorary member of the Devon Woods Home and Garden Club, which she founded in 1965. The funeral will be at 11 a.m.

Friday at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home with Thomas Heaton and Sister Mildred Wannemuehler officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Melba Dailey Memorial Fund at Nashville United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Dailey was born in Akron, Ohio, April 28, 1909, the daughter of Adonias Wateland Hall and Virginia Susan Cline. She was the widow of James R. Dailey, who died in 1998. Surviving are sons, Mark D.

Schickendantz of Kalispell, and James B. Dailey of Littleton, a brother, Charles M. Hall of Akron; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. St. Peter's Lutheran member Erma E.

Huffman Seymour Erma E. Huffman, 95, of Seymour died at noon Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Lutheran Community Home. A Columbus resident until she moved to Seymour 12 years ago, Mrs. Huffman was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Columbus and was a homemaker.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday' at Myers Funeral Service, Reed Jewell Chapel on 25th Street. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Riley Hospital for Children. Mrs. Huffman was born in Galva, Iowa, Dec. 12, 1906, the daughter of Clause and Margartte Hahnkamp Mohn. She married Ellsworth Huffman Dec.

22, 1926, in Iowa. He died Sept. 27, 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara O'Brien of Simi Valley, sons, Irving Huffman of Richmond and Wilbur Huffman of Kokomo; brothers, Arnold Mohn of Story City, Iowa, and Eitel Mohn of Cherokee, Iowa; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Elfrieda Williams and Edna Christensen; and brothers, Herbert and William Mohn.

Curtis Williams, 24, a University of Washington football player who was paralyzed during a game in October 2000, died Monday. Williams was paralyzed in a game at Stanford.
