James Williams Leo E. McFadden The night before is always sleepless sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes, what i see on tv i do not believe, and what is worse, i do not believe the tv announcers believe it either, but through their medium, and through their efforts, the untruths spill over into my sitting room and yours case in point: after the third round of the ladies golf open, three contestants, actually, the three leaders with a chance to win it all the next day, were asked what they would do to pacify themselves on the eve of the final juggernaut, the final 18 holes the following day which would crown a winner, and we heard their replies over the tube, thusly: one would go home and play with her baby, another would go out to dinner with her parents, and the third said she would go to the salad bar at wendy's, more or less tip-toeing through the lettuce, and we, the award-winning, honest public were left with the impression that these three gals, hard-charged as they were, with victory within grasp, with prestige on the line, not to mention endorsements worthy of millions, were going to conduct themselves as the average, bucolic housewife in kansas whose highlight the past three days was to hear the corn grow, and wearied out by that high note, that very night, while fighting off mosquitoes the size of the new c5, could sleep the sleep of the just thanks to my own industry, without consulting the american psychiatric assn, the american psychologists assn, the american medical assn, the american chiropractic assn, or even baskin and robbins, i have positive proof that the tv airwaves were filled with balderdash on this tv interview of the calm evening the stars were facing the small college i attended back before the civil war was at no time mentioned as a power in sports illustrated, the christian science monitor, the las vegas sun, the reno gazette-journal or the weekly bulletin of the elko baptist church, but i can guarantee you, as i tried to fall asleep the night of the day of or the evening of an inter-hall game of Softball, basketball, hardball, soccer or track, how as a participant would lie awake, playing over every play, every bound of the ball, every swing of the bat, every passing of the baton, every foot race to the ball, every out of bounds, every point scored, every snarling intimidation by your very best friend who happened to be on the opposing team, and i would toss and turn, unable to go to sleep, caring very little about the salad bar, but only how i had played the game, and how i would do tomorrow, Frugoli Cunningham Judith Cunningham and Ronald Frugoli Sr. were married June 8 at the Lawton residence in Reno. "It's such interesting country, I never got tired of it. Every time it rains, or the wind blows, it may uncover something." She found so many arrowheads she doesn't know how many she has any more. "I counted 'em once but that was a while ago and I forgot how many there were. And I got buckets o' broken ones." Arrowheads continue to fascinate her because they were made similarly all over the country. "I always wondered how they got the same pattern and the same workmanship," she said.

She has no favorites: "I like 'em all. One is as precious as the next one. "Some people think you should leave Indian artifacts in the ground, but I don't agree with that. If I don't pick it up, somebody else will, and why not someone that can prize them?" Mullen is just as outspoken about not trespassing on Indian reservations or destroying the wilderness. "I don't believe in desecrating things.

I don't think we were put here for that. "I just wish I could go out there, because it's the most interesting hobby you can have," she said. "So now all I can do is sit and think sbout the trips I havt taken. I'm glad I have them."
