(TMC) Citycruiser buses will roll off the assembly line this month, and a Greyhound executive says Citycruiser production will stabi- lize TMC employment in Roswell. That bus, which is supplied basically to the parent company, Greyhound as a replacement for vehicles being taken out of service, has traditionally dropped in production during the fall, the spokesman said, because Greyhound is a partly seasonal business. In distributing its 1978 annual report, Greyhound said that its operations in Roswell contributed more than $4 million directly into the economy of the city. This figure does not include substantial local and real estate taxes.

The major share of those funds represents salaries and wages amounting to more than $3.7 million, the spokesman said. Those wages were paid in 1978 to some 405 Roswell employees. Greyhound chairman Gerald H. Trautman told stockholders that 1978 was a difficult year for the company, resulting in the closure of several of its Armour and Co. plants and a complete change in management in its transportation group.

"The principal problems facing Greyhound are over-regulation, mainly by the federal government, and the rising tide of inflation," Trautman said. A Slaton police dispatcher said an ambulance was sent to the crash site at 1:23 p.m. Officials of the Department of (Continued from Page 4) The doctor closed his comments with a plea to the Army desk soldiers, trying to shake them of their complacency. "Let us look at the threat," he wrote. "Let us look at our assets. Let us re-evaluate.

At the least let's talk about it." Footnote: While the Army brass continues to blame the medical corp's shortcomings on circumstances beyond their control, Pentagon critics on Capitol Hill say the cause is rooted in the age-old problems of the military incompetence, inefficiency and sloopy planning. Public Safety identified the pilot as Jerry Don Martin of Roswell, N.M., and the only passenger as Robert Hall, 48, of Slaton. Both men were taken to a Lubbock hospital, where the DPS reported Martin's condition as critical and Hall's as serious. Lt. Jerry Eaton of the Slaton Police Department said both men were strapped inside the downed helicopter, normally used for crop dusting, when authorities arrived.

He said the helicopter was not dusting at the time of the crash, however. "One was semi-conscious and the other was conscious." Eaton said. "A witness (at the airport) saw it go down but it appeared to be in no trouble," Eaton said. "The best he could tell there was no cause for the crash." One of the men suffered reported head injuries and another may have sustained back injuries, a dispatcher said. RADE-IN The NIELSEN K2S24M Distinctive Early American Styling.
