Mrs. H. J. Lewis and daughter, Grace, left this morning for Illinois and other eastern points. They expect be gone about two months.

Charnock went lo Davis Tuesday afternoon, accompanied by her husband, Rev. Charnock. In the even ing she boarded the Shasta Limited at that place and left for Seattle. After visiting Ihe fair she will go to Westminster, B. where she will visit her sister.

assisted hy R. G. Lawspn acting as Grand Marshal, and E. Hayward acting as Grand Secretary. The installation was witnessed by a very large attendance of members, who manifested keen Interest in the work.

Among those present from Woodland Parlor, No. 30, were President L. H. Cranston, Recording Secretary B. B.

Hayward, Treasurer R. G. B'inancial Secretary W. 0. Kean.

Marshal Julius Kraft, E. Leake, D. D. G. and A.

C. Huston. Following the Installation delicious refreshments were served in the banquet hall. President R. Lee acted as toastmaster and there were some vory entertaining remarks.

W. Ely, Trus tee. Winters Parlor, after lapsing fo many months, was just recently re organized. The new parlor has excellent membership roll and is con liuually receiving more application for membership. The parlor has good live set of officers and bids fai to remain in a very prosperous condi tion.

The officers of Sylvan Rebeka Lodge, No. 108, were installed Tucsda evening by Miss Louisa Schmeisei district deputy. The installation wa witnessed by a large crowd, Includin a big delegation from Davis and ills one from Capay. Nice refreshments were served a the conclusion of the meeting, and MADISON MF.NTION. The Crilllam brothers are busy at work with their harvester on the Lewis farm. Miss Pauline Mast, who Is teaching shorthand in San Francisco, is at home to spend her vacation. Geo. W. Scott sold 700 head of mutton sheep to a Sacramento butcher Monday, for $3 a head.

E. Warren and son left today for Red Bluff, where they will visit friends and enjoy an outing of several weeks in the mountains. Arthur Scott moved his traction engine to the Buckeye farm today, where he has 200 acres of wheat and 600 acres of barley to harvest. Thomas Hall and wife of Hungry Hollow were here Tuesday, Mr. Hall Is'81 years of age and his eye is still bright and step elastic.

It is reported that J. J. Stephens of Woodland will soon commence the construction of a new residence on the site of the building recently destroyed by fire. Cottonwood Dancing Club gave ty at the residence of John Christiansen last Saturday night. Good music was furnished by George Galvis' string band.

A splendid supper was served.
