NV 25t 45,131 Reno, NV 25C 36,607 DEBRA DUKE Hypnotizing her way to fun and laughter A woman stands onstage shooing away an imaginary bee. In the corner, two business executives play "patty-cake," while a grey-haired police officer belly-dances across the floor. What sounds like a scene from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" is instead an unusual nightclub show-and for audiences in Harrah's Reno Casino Cabaret ifs a riot.

Nightly except Mondays through March 27, audiences are lining up at Harrah's Reno to watch hypnotist Debra Duke in action. Duke, called the "Hypnotist to the Stars" because of her work with people like Charles Bronson and Muhammad Ali, semmingly casts a spell over his subjects and brings out, one might say, their "hidden" talents. According to Duke, a hypnotist cannot make people do things against their natures. "A person will not do anything under hypnosis that he won't do in everyday life," she says. But, when occasionally someone gets a bit carried away, Duke uses her "freeze technique," commanding her subject to halt whatever he is doing.

"When we do the stripper," she says, "I watch carefully to make sure that nobody goes too far." 'Reno Exhibits the Arts' MS Society benefit show features entertainment Fine arts, unique crafts and continuous live entertainment will be featured at "Reno Exhibits the Arts," which will premier at the RenoSparks Convention Center on March 18, 19 and 20. Sponsored by Collete Promotions, the show is a benefit for the Northern Nevada Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. More than 200 artists and craftspeople from throughout the west will be offering their works for sale. The emphasis will be on oil and watercolor paintings, graphic arts, sculptures and handmade quality crafts, according to Jeff Denison, promotion director for Collete. No commercial products will be allowed, and all entries have been screened.

A wide variety of performing arts will also be represented: ballet and other dance forms, theater and music to suit every taste. Scheduled musical guests include the High Strung Bluegrass Band, Lost Coyote and Tim Lindsay Corelangton. The University Ballet Theatre and the Reno Ballet Arts Academy will also be performing. "Reno Exhibits the Arts" will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

on Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission donations are $2.50 for adults and $1.50 for senior citizens and students. The proceeds will be used to aid research efforts seeking the cause and cure of Multiple Sclerosis and to provide services for MS patients in northern Nevada and the Lake ancTSjusanville 4 Co for a big one at the Grand.
