An air of uncertainty settled over the situation in a dispute between miners and company officials concerning safety regulations and a machine helper. The 650 miners came up from the pits on Tuesday but went back to work the following day. They were back out yesterday, however.

As yet the miners union has slated no vote on returning to work. Discussions on the dispute can't begin until the men return.
