Alex Joy, grew up in Reno, NV and was an author, published poet and philanthropist, who donated to many local charities. Alex was preceded in death by her parents, James M. Nicely, Sr. and Edna L.

Nicely. She is survived by her twin brother Jamie Nicely of Reno, NV. Interment will be in the family plot at Forest Lawn Cemetery, N. Hollywood, CA during a private family memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name would be appreciated to the the Nevada Food Bank or the SPCA of Reno, NV.

Alexandra is now at peace Doris "Dorie" ARMITAGE-HOLGUIN Doris "Dorie" ArmitageHolguin, 57, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2009 from complications of pneumonia. She was a Canadian citizen but had lived in the United States for over 30 years. She is survived by her son, Adam and former husband, Larry. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 23, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Final Wishes, 437 Stoker Ave.

Reno, NV. Karl D. TOBEY Karl D. Tobey of Carson City, NV passed away on November 18, 2009 at the Veterans Administration Hospital. He was 93 years old.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the O' Brien-Rogers Crosby Funeral Home, 600 2nd St Reno at noon. Military honors and Burial will follow at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery, Fernley, NV. Arrangements entrusted to the O'BrienRogers Crosby Funeral Home. Eleanor O'NEIL Eleanor O'Neil of Reno, NV passed on November 18, 2009. She was 73 years old.

She was born in Stewart, NV March 6, 1936 to Irving O'Neil and Katherine Harper. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by sons, Steve, Roger, Brandon and Blaine Brown; daughter, Gina Brown and sister, Phyllis Pete all of Reno. She has 21 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Sunday November 22, 2009 from 1-4 p.m.

at the O'Brien Rogers and Crosby Funeral Home, 600 W. 2nd St. Reno. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 23, 2009 at the RenoSparks Indian Colony Gym at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at the Stewart Cemetery in Carson City, NV.

Arrangements entrusted to the O'Brien Rogers and Crosby Funeral Home. Kimberly Ann HILLARD Kimberly Ann Hillard, 42, passed away November 3, 2009 after battling cancer. She was born on July 18, 1967 in Easton, PA. Kim is survived by her father, Harold; mother, Mildred and brother, Mark. All of us will deeply miss her.

Per Kim's wishes there will be no service. Cremation will be handled by the Neptune Society. Our family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Vista Care for their kindness and care of Kim during her illness. Jauneita Simon, 77, Jauneita SIMON away on November 10, 2009 at Renown Regional Medical Center with her children by her side. Her passions in life were gardening, crafts and sewing. She is survived by her sisters, Evelyn Kauer, Wanda Stroey, Brenda Webster, Freda Killingsworth and brother, Andrew Haylor and their spouses; her children, Kevin Simon, Jackie Whitney, David Simon, Joniece Frasca, Terry and Don and their spouses. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew Whitney, Casey and Tyler Frasca, Kevin Joniece and Nicholas and great- grandchildren, Lilyann and MaryJane Simon. As well as countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life, her husband, Robert, of over 50 years. Per her wishes no services will be held. It is with a great deal of sadness we announce the passing of Hoyt B. Miles on October 20, 2009.

As a beloved friend, neighbor, and an all around great man, he will be deeply missed. He was 91 years old. Hoyt was born on February 25, 1918 in Joplin, MO. His father, Hoyt Barner Miles, was from an old Vermont family dating back to the American Revolution. His mother Elma Collins Nules was born in Tennessee.

In high school Hoyt was interested in music. He began on the piano and later learned to play the flute. He played in two national high school orchestral contests and won first rating both times. Since there had been other physicians in the family, Hoyt's mother asked him during high school if he wanted to pursue a career in music or medicine. After due consideration he noted that all musicians in town were poor and the family doctor had two cars.

He told his mother he thought that medicine would be the preferable choice. Hoyt graduated from Central Methodist University in Missouri in 1940 and from Yale University of Medicine in December 1943. During WWII he interned at St. Albans Navy Hospital and served as a young Navy doctor with the 3rd Marine Division on Guam. After the war he was sent to Tsingtao, China to be a Regimental Surgeon with the 4th Marine Regiment, reinforced.

After returning home to Los Angeles from China in 1946 he resumed surgical training for five years and then practiced urology. In 1948 he married Luana Wallace, from Hawaii. In Los Angeles been a member of the Hollywood Academy of Medicine and the Santa Monica Swimming, Club. During his urological practice he published several scientific papers, the first in the Journal of Urology in 1954. Later, during the Cold War his most memorable scientific publication was a study of venal endometriosis and a years report on the fifth case ever known in the world literature of medicine.

There were more than one hundred requests for copies of this particular work from Europe, Asia and several other countries behind the Iron Curtain. In 1958 he moved to Reno, Nevada and established a urological practice. Hoyt was a member of the American College of Surgeons. He was also a member and president of the western section of the American Urological Association. In 1979 he hosted the annual meeting at the Fairmont hotel in San Francisco.

Locally he was a member of the Reno Surgical Society, Prospectors Club and Hidden Valley Country Club. He was also a member of the Pan Pacific Surgical Society and on occasion presented papers in Tokyo and elsewhere in the Pacific. Hoyt and his wife, Luana had a second home in Honolulu where he was a member and of fished the Outrigger Canoe Club for nearly fifty years. He was an avid fly and fisherman from New Zealand to Northern Quebec, including several rivers lakes in the western states, British Columbia, and Western Alaska. Hoyt was an aviation enthusiast and pilot and, over a period of time, flew his own plane, which he used in the earlier years for both business and personal travel.

He was a member of the Kerak Shrine and the Royal Order of Jesters. In the early seventies Hoyt was diagnosed with cancer which later resulted in radical in 1975. This brought about an early retirement from his profession, but he was able to continue an active family life for many years. He and Luana visited five. surgery continents and made many friends in far away places.

They vacationed at their home in Hawaii annually over the years until her death in 1999. Hoyt was also preceded in death by his sister, Jean Miles, who died in 2008. His ability to travel in recent years was somewhat curtailed but he continued to live out his life with close friends and neighbors who cherished him as a beloved friend. He was a kind, smart, and wonderful man who will be missed dearly. Leslie Leonard HOPPE Leslie Leonard Hoppe peacefully passed on November 17, 2009.

Leslie was born to Erv and Angie Ghiloni Leonard on June 23, 1929 in Canada. Les attended grammar school in Verdi and finished school in Oroville, CA. Her life included being a mother and housewife, the banking business in Reno, working for the school district and as a librarian in Georgetown. Leslie was preceded in death by husband, Vincent Hoppe. Survivors are her sons, Chuck (Shelly) and Kurt; granddaughter, Brooke and cousin, Virginia Holt.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity of her favorites were Verdi Historical Society, P.O. Box 663, Verdi, NV 89439 or The Nevada Humane Society. Lois Claire ZETTER Carlsbad, CA. On November 17, 2009 after a brief illness at age 70.

Originally from Pawtucket, RI. Daughter of the late Oscar and Pauline Zetter. Graduate cum laude from Brandeis U. Worked as actress in New York. partner in talent management firm of Los Angeles.

She leaves her loving husband of 20 years Walt Unterseher; her brother, Dr. Bruce Zetter and his wife, Dr. Sally Ourieff and their three children, Olivia, Gabriel and Willis of Wayland, MA. At Lois' request, donations in her honor may be sent to the Lois Zetter Theatre Arts Scholarship Fund at Brandeis University, P.O. Molly Lou Molly Lou Downs Allison passed into history from natural causes November 12, 2009. Born into a prominent ranching and gaming family the native Fallonite lived her life to the fullest with family as the center nucleus. Talented in art and design she shared her love of Nevada outdoors on the golf course and off. Independent, spirited, sassy. Molly was a passionate conversationalist.

She maintained an 1 opinion with both attitude and humor. Together with her life long partner, Jim, they built a strong family unit consisting of their son, Jimmy (deceased); daughter, Janine (Doug); son, Duke (Lisa) and precious granddaughter, Autumn. Numerous nieces, nephews, schoolmates, animals and friends found the door always open, along with a great meal and her brand of home comfort. At her request there will be no memorial service. Donations in her honor can be sent to CAPS organization for animal in Fallon.

The family would like to thank Monaco Ridge Assisted Living staff for their generous care a and support in Molly's last year. Maurice Elwyn Peter C. BALL Maurice Elwyn Ball was born March 25, 1952 and left this life November 18, 2009. He was born in Reno, NV and lived here his entire life. He attended Veteran's Memorial School, Sparks Junior High and Sparks High School.

He worked in the laundry at Saint Mary's Hospital for 10 years. Later, he worked at various jobs at WARC. His final job was at Data Guard. He loved anything to do with music, recordings and rummage sales. He loved to share his music collections and leading music at church.

He is survived by his parents, Elwyn and Ethel Ball of Sparks; brothers, Larry (Laurie) of Chandler, AZ, Curtis (Kirsten) of Sandy Utah, Kerry (Lynette) of Idaho Falls and his sister, Teresa (Craig) Humphrey of Sparks NV. A Funeral Memorial will be held on Monday, November 23, 2009 a at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, intersection of Rock Blvd and North McCarren, Sparks, NV. French, 68, of Sparks, NV passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at home from ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Peter was born in Queens, NY. He worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale, CA and in Sparks for Redemtech. He spent two years in the US Army and 21 years in the New York Air National Guard, Naval Air Reserves and 'the California National Guard. He was a resident of Sparks for nine years and a former resident of San Jose, CA for 27 years.

He also volunteered with VASC, SMART, CERT, CHSC and the MS Society. Peter was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Verdi History Preservation Society. Peter is survived by his wife, Judith French; son, Michael (Jennifer) French; daughter, Julie (Joe) Riney and three grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 7 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 2900 North McCarran Boulevard, Sparks.

Stephen V. ROBISON SR. 1942 2009 Steve Robison passed away unexpectedly at his home in Naples, Florida on November 9, 2009. As a Reno native he achieved All State honors in football at Reno High School and graduated in 1960. Steve had a passion for martial arts having obtained a 3rd degree black-belt by age 21 and competed at a National level.

He loved music and played drums in several Reno area bands. He was an accomplished pilot; avid sportsman who loved the outdoors; a world traveler and voracious reader. After attending UNR, Steve worked and later owned Nevada Tank and Casing. Thereafter he owned and operated Pearl Metal Fabrication that helped construct Aloha stadium in Honolulu. He returned to Reno as a financial advisor and real estate broker.

He was in the forefront of condominium conversions and converted high rise apartment buildings to condominiums in Reno and across the country. For the past 20 years, Steve and his wife Lola resided in Naples, Florida, where Steve owned and operated a commercial real estate and construction company. For the past 30 years, Steve has been a member of the Reno 13 Masonic Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite and Kerak Shrine. Steve is survived by his wife Lola; son Stephen Jr. (Jerri) and twin daughters Debora (Gordon) Christensen and Pamela (Derek) Wideriksen.

He has twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren with one on the way. He also helped raise, tutor and mentor a brother, Kent Robison (Tonya) by whom Steve is and was revered. He was a loving Father, Husband and Brother and will be missed. Steve's family held a private family gathering to celebrate Steve's life, accomplishments and loving support.
