That is, if the producers could persuade Rodgers end Hammer-stein to write the tunes, and Mary Martin to star in it. Stewmt Granger and Jean Simmons sued Howard Hughes for 1250.000, charging he did not live Up to the contract RKO negotiated with Jean. There are many angles to this suit.

I hear that Granger borrowed from MGM to pay for his Bel Air home, and wanted to sell It to Hughe for $250,000 rawh before he would consent to his wife signing a long-term contract. The money was to be paid to Granger, and not to dean. This case coyld drag through the courts for years, snd keep this talented actress off the screen. In the enwiing 13 years, Flynn has portrayed a long raw cexsion of sea raptitirn, bucko mater, pirates and juxt ordinary seamen in o'ean epics which never have failed to pay returns for his producers. Most people will tell you It's the super-westerns that rate as the moet popular movie entertainment, but Flynn will take aea stories any time. "You can't get the all around color and appeal into a western that you can in a water story," he said. J- That to th them of "FBI Girt," a rather tock melodrama now at the- PalM. It's mml somewhat better by a few novel twists In thn pM but lt not ft suspen plecej that will keep you on the edge, of your neat. Thin In not a mere cops-and-robbers story. The villains of the piece ar corrupt politicians from the governor on down aimed at avoiding sr'sndiil at the hand of a Senate crime investigating- committee. THE RITF.RT Hujjhea story opens with a documentary explanation of the FBI's fingerprint file by Cesar Romero who, with George Brent, doea most of the sleuthing in the case to come.

Tt la for the want of a card out of these files that the governor brings about a series of murders. He's fearsome that the Senate Investigation will lead to his arrest and fingerprinting. So the machine moves to steal the card from the files which would Identify him a a murderer of 20 jears earlier. The racketeers try to get two FBI girls to do the filching but they refuse and one loses her life. But agents Romero and Brent trap the so-snd-sos and save the Senate committee a lot of trouble.

ACTING BY Romero and Brent call for no unusual talents. They take turns looking baffled, then wine snd then tense as they chase the criminals. Audrey Totter Is the G-Girl used to trap the governor, Raymond Gremileaf, and his hab-lmt man, Raymond Burr. Tom Drake Is her lover who becomes ft tool of the polltlcos because of his desire for security. The picture throw a neat punch at TV as it shows a ham comedy act being dona by a couple of vaudeville experts, Tom Noonan and Peter Marshall.

ONE OF the neatest scenes also Involves a TV show. It has the governor all smiles as he meets the press in front of the cameras and then a fearful look as he turns hia back to them. The final chase la rather unique In that Miss Totter carries ft microphone in tier handbag as she Is kidnaped. The fl-Men not only have ber surrounded by squad rare but are also patrolling the air above In a helicopter. "FBI Girl" is okay for the fam-iiy but rather rough on anyone seeking good drama.
