Analysts said many investors had taken to the sidelines to see if the profit taking which has characterized trading this week has run its course. In the news background the government reported wholesale prices last month rose at a 6 per cent annual rate and unemployment remained unchanged at 5.9 per cent. Analysts said these were additional negative factors restraining the market. Chemicals, farm implements, mail order-retail and rubbers were up. All other stock categories were mixed.

Maxine Rogers reported Friday. The public is invited. Presented by the Rev. and Mrs. Kenneth Moeckl, newly appointed instructors at the Christian Life Training School in Riverside, the program will discuss a new answer to the drug problem.

It will also include special music and a slide presentation concerning their new school which rehabilitates acute drug addicts in the "Teen Challenge" outreach. "Teen Challenge" is a nonprofit Christian organization which, through spiritual and educational emphasis, attempts to give meaningful direction to the lives of drug addicts and abusers, juvenile delinquents and other troubled youth, Mrs. Rogers said. It was founded by David Wilkerson, author of "The Cross and the Switch blade." Farm program payments are dependent upon producer certification, Brincks pointed out. "Early certification means an early payment.

However, no one should make certification until he knows he is in compliance." When a farmer certifies compliance, he reports the exact acreage of his set-aside land and program crops and designates the location of his set- aside acreage on a photocopy of his farmland. He also certifies that he has complied and will continue to comply with all program regulations. Certification is made at the ASCS county office. As soon as a farmer certifies, ASCS begins processing ror his program payments. Payments cannot be made before July 1 but th law provides they ment, the chairman also said ble thereafter.

While commenting that certification means early pay- that accurate certification is essential. Once a farmer has made his final certification, he may not change his mind nor make acreage adjustments, and a mistake can mean loss of some or all of his program payment. program of its kind in Iowa.
