Spix, a supervisor in the engineering department of the Duquesne Light will be sung at 10 a. m. Monday at St. Alphonsus Church, Springdale. Mr.

Spix, of 634 Chestnut Springdale, died yesterday. He was a charter member of the Amicus Club, and a member of Lodge 1263, Elks of McKees Rocks. Surviving are his widow, Violet; two sons, Bernard and Charles; three daughters, Mary Lou, Mrs. Betty Scott and Mrs. Shirley Davis; brother, Carl; a sister, Elizabeth; and 11 grandchildren.

Friends are being received at the F. Wesley Stark Funeral Home, 627 Pittsburgh Springdale. Stephen Popik Requiem high mass for Stephen Popik, Braddock funeral director, will be at 10:30 a. Saturday in St. Peter and Paul Greek Catholic Church, Braddock.

Mr. Popik died Tuesday at his funeral home, 1100 Bell which also was his residence. He was a member of the National and Allegheny County Funeral Directors Assns. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Church, its Holy Rosary Society, and the Slavonic Social Club.

Surviving are his widow, Mary; two daughters, Mildred and Dorothy Popik; five grandchildren; also a brother and a sister. Friends may call at the Popik Funeral Home. Burial will be in Monongahela Cemetery. John F. Heim Services for John F.

Heim, employed for 40 years by the Ross Twp. School Board and Road Department, will be at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Brandt Funeral Home, 1034 Perry Highway, Perrysville. Mr.

Heim, 64, of 3273 Babcock Ross died Tuesday. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Perrysville. Surviving are his widow, Hannah; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Mayer, of North Hills; five brothers, Simon and Milton, both of Pittsburgh, and Ferdinand, Charles and Robert all of the North Hills; four sisters, Mrs.

Raymond Gault, of Tarentum, and Mrs. Clara Meyers, Mrs. Harry Windhorst and Mrs. Elizabeth Concelman, all of the North Hills; and a grandchild. Friends are being received at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park. Mrs. Margaret Meyer Services for Mrs. Margaret L. Meyer, a former Mt.

Lehanon and Dormont resident, will be at 3 p. m. Saturday in the E. B. Laughlin Funeral Home, 3310 W.

Liberty Ave. Mrs. Meyer, 84, died Tuesday in St. Petersburg, Fla. She was a member of the Dormont Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a son, D. W. Meyer of Upper St. Clair a daughter, Mrs. Alice M.

Ashford of St. Petersburg; a brother, August Spease and a sister, Mrs. Kate Leighty, both of Platteville, one grandson and four greatgrandchildren. Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.

Margaret D. Duran Requiem mass for Margaret D. Duran, an employe of the Braddock office, Mellon National Bank, will be sung at 10 a. m. Saturday in St.

Thomas Church, Braddock. Miss Duran, of 906 Bell North Braddock, died yesterday in Allegheny General Hospital. She was a member of the St. Thomas Church Sodality. Surviving are her mother, Mrs.

Briaget Duran; a sister, Mrs. Albert J. McMullen, of Pittsburgh, and two brothers, Thomas, of Bethel Park, and James, of Braddock. Friends are being received at the Zorn Funeral Home, Fourth Street, Braddock. Burial will be in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.

St. Vincent Mass Planned For Historian Father Felix Fellner, Retired Professor, Society Founder LATROBE, March 7 Requiem mass for Father Felix Fellner, a retired professor at St. Vincent College, will be sung at 10 a. m. Saturday at St.

Vincent Basilica. Father Felix, a noted church historian, died yesterday. He was a founder of the Historical Society of Western Pennsylvania; and a member of the American Catholic His. torical Assn. He was graduated from the college in 1898 and was ordained in 1901.

He received his master's degree in 1900 and his Doctor of Laws degree in 1935 at the college. Father Felix, a native of Bavaria, also served as prior in the St. Vincent Archabbey. He retired in 1957 as professor of church history and a professor in the St. Vincent Seminary, Burial will be in St.

Vincent Archabbey Cemetery. Mrs. Isabella Brown Services for Mrs. Isabella Brown, of 1747 Kleber North Side, will be at 2 p. m.

tomorrow at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, 1014 California Avalon. Mrs. Brown, 94, a native of Scotland, died Tuesday in Suburban General Hospital. She was a member the Lady Walter Scott Daughters of Scotia 116; Pittsburgh Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star; and Florence Nightingale Degree Lodge 153, Daughters of Rebecca.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ethel C. Koerner, Mrs. Albert J. Spurrier, and Mrs.

Walter G. Geilfuss; four sons, Raymond, William, Thomas, and Walter; a sister, Mrs. N. H. Coxon; four grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.

Burial will be in Union Dale Cemetery. George Dandar George Dandar, founder and former president of the Jerome Boulevard Hotel died yesterday in McKeesport Hospital. Proprietor of the hotel from until his retirement in 1946, Mr. Dandar, 84, lived at 1408 Scott McKeesport. He also was former president of the old State Bank of McKeesport.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Anna Snavely, Mrs. Marie Feaver, Mrs. Ester Kruschke and Mrs. Margaret Schaffer, and three sons, John, Emil and Edward Dandar.

Requiem high mass for Mr. Dandar will be offered at 9 a. m. Saturday at St. Nicholas Church, McKeesport.

Pet Snake Dies With Fire-In-Eyes What looked like a length of garden hose twitched a little when firemen tramped into a third floor apartment i in Squirrel Hill. It was a six-foot indigo snake.

a pet, of sorts, of David Bergholz, 6318 Bartlett St. Mr. Bergholz, employed at a book center in Oakland, was not home at the time when the fire broke out in his apartment about 11 o'clock last night. Firemen extinguished the blaze. But the blaze extinguished the snake, a harmless reptile that had been turned over to Mr.

Bergholz several months ago by a professor at the University of Pittsburgh. Two cats also perished from smoke inhalation. Tenants of the first and second floors of the building escaped without injury and damage was confined to the Bergholz quarters. Convocation Set At Robert Morris Dr. Robert S.

Cope, registrar and director of admissions at Wooster College, Ohio, will speak at the second annual Honors Convocation of Robert Morris Junior College tomorrow. Out standin students and faculty at the college Dr. Cope will be recognized at the convocation at 10:30 a. m. in the Warner Theater.

Death Notices KOKORANACKI (Laska) One-Lung Survivor Dies Here Dr. Gilmore Had First-Of-Type Surgery In 1933 Services for Dr. James L. Gilmore, who in 1933 became the first person to survive the removal of a lung by surgery, will be at 2 p. m.

tomorrow at H. Sampson's, 537 N. Neville Oakland. Dr. Gilmore, 78, of 1331 Inverness Squirrel Hill, died yesterday at Allegheny General Hospital.

He was chief obstetrician at the hospital from 1926 to 1955. Dr. Gilmore's historic operation took place in St. Louis where he went for treatment of lung cancer. The operation was performed April 5, 1933, by Dr.

Evarts ans A. Graham. Dr. Gilmore was graduated from Westminster College and the University of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Sixth United, Presbyterian Church, the American College of Obstretics and Gynecology, and was past president of the Pittsburgh Society of Obstetries and Gynecology.

He is survived by three sons; Dr. James Gilmore, Dr. George H. Gilmore, and Samuel T. Gilmore, and six are being received at the funeral home after 4 p.

m. today. The family suggests memorial contributions to charity or the Allegheny General Hospital. Harry Grimm Services for Harry Gimm, a retired fireman, will be at 1 p. m.

tomorrow in the L. Beinhauer Sons Mortuary, 2630 W. Liberty Ave. Mr. Grimm, 86, died Tuesday at his home, 2089 Woodward Brookline, where he lived the past 50 years.

He retired from the City Fire Dept. 31 years ago. Mr. Grimm was a member of the Pittsburgh City Firefighters Local 1, Veteran Fireman's Assn. and State Fireman's Assn.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Margaret Engel, Minnie F. Grimm, Mrs. Hannah Eufinger, Mrs. Elizabeth Baxter and Mrs.
