Deeding problem causes confusion YERINGTON There is some confusion as to whether Lyon County should be doing any work on the fairgrounds here. When considering appointments to the Lyon County Fair Board recently, county commissioners were not even sure that the land was ever deeded to the county.

Research by Lyon County District Attorney Ron Banta determined that Indeed the land had been deeded to the county, but that the original deed, dated Dec. 13, 1S7G, apparently begins its description of the property 30 feet to the west of Its current boundaries. By the time an engineering firm discovered the apparent error in the description, Lyon County Fairgrounds, had dissolved as a corporation and its former president had refused to sign a deed of correction on those grounds. In a 1976 pact, the county agreed to take over the federally-guaranteed loan on the fairgrounds and assume its payment on the condition that Lyon County Fairgrounds, would sign the land over to the county. Banta has been asked to look further into the correction of the original deed.

Nugget given approval to raise $75 million CARSON CITY (AP) Plans by Golden Nugget Inc. to make a public offering to generate $75 million or more to finance planned expansion into New Jersey have been approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission. The commission also decided Thursday to authorize Caesars World Inc. to start paperwork on a proposed $50 million public offering, which would be used mainly to expand its Las Vegas hotel-casino operations. In both instances the commission warned that proceeds of the offerings were not to be used in any way to promote efforts to legalize gaming in other areas such as Florida.

Golden Nugget lawyer Shannon Bybee said that the firm hopes to have the offering available within two weeks, pending final approval by the federal Securities and Exchange Commission. The offering includes a mixture of Golden Nugget common stock and senior sinking fund debentures. The firm, which runs the Golden Nugget hotel-casino in Las Vegas, recently announced plans to build a new Atlantic City, N.J., hotel-casino. The firm is also considering expansion to Florida should gaming become legal there. The New Jersey plans call for a $75 million, 520-room hotel-casino with a gambling hall about as big as the present one at Resorts International hotel-casino.

Caesars World, which runs Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, won approval to file a registration statement with the SEC for its proposed $50 million offering. The offering would include $25 million in common stock and another $25 million in debentures. If approved by the SEC, the proposed offering must come before the Gaming Commisson once more for final approval. fmutim ifii mjiii 825 nlllWlI Color console Get a $60 rebate from Zenith" on this 25" diagonal System 3 color console! Slot route licensed CARSON CITY AP) Ralph Mosa has narrowly won approval from the state Gaming Commission to run a Las Vegas-based slot route operation after discussion of alleged influence-peddling through a former top Las Vegas Metro officer. The panel voted 3-2 Thursday to grant Mosa a one-year limited license for his CACO company, with commissioners Clair Haycock and George Swarts voting against the plan. Haycock said he was concerned because it seemed Mosa had loaned between $5,000 and $7,000 to former Metro officer Gene Clark in efforts to secure contracts with hotel-casinos. Clark has denied the allegations.

Clark was caught up in controversy earier because of a loan from Argent Corp. officials. John Manzonie, lawyer for Mosa, said the money went to Clark as a loan after he had left the force, and that legal efforts are anticipated in efforts to get the money back. $33 monthly Tri-Focus picture tube has 3 focusing actions instead of one, and the high resolution EFL electron gun to improve picture sharpness.
