The contest will be a top-drawer affair. The Blues are composed of many players who are due to step up to the parent Red Sox and into Negro baseball's fastest circles. The team also consists of several veterans of Negro major league play who are used to steady the youngsters. Among top players on the Blues' squad are Jesse Warren, curve- ball artist who has won five and lost one. Behind the plate will be Wayman "Red" Longley, a veteran of Negro baseball.

Oscar "Skinny" Harris, another promising hurler who has won four and lost one this year, will be ready to go. Harris is 16-years- old. Jim Ford, veteran baseballer, manages the Memphis crew. The Black Yankees boast of a fast infield and are well known for their double plays. The team has plenty of batting power and speed.

The Yankees are the pride of Harlem in New York City. Their popularity is due to the youth movement on the club which like the Blues, is composed of potential big league material. Marvin Barker, reportedly one of the greatest all-around players in professional Negro baseball, manages the New York team. He is assisted by Harry Williams, coach, another all-time Negro great. Cubs, Panthers Win Softball Contests The Cubs, one of the four teams in the Dempster Softball loop, continued their winning ways last night at Riverside park when they trounced the Cardinals 21-11.

They outhit their opponents 17 to 8. Both teams committed eight errors. In the first game of the evening, the Panthers defeated the Trojans 10-8. The Pantjiers were bettered in the hitting department by the Trojans 10-8. Three errors were committed by the Panthers.

The Trojans made one. Harold Andrew, Beatrice hurler. was in top form last night as the Beatrice Fords handed the Seward juniors a 5-0 pasting at Athletic park. Andrew struck out 12 of the 26 batters to face him. Last night's win was the third league victory for the Beatrice club.

They had previously beaten Fairbury and the Lincoln Elks. Andrew received good support from his teammates both in the field and at bat. Beatrice scored their runs in the second and third innings. In the second, with one down, Hugh Munson, Beatrice catcher, rapped a double, but was retired when he attempted to steal third Don Hodge, in the same inning, drew a "free pass" and Dick Kiburz, second sacker, blasted a double, advancing Hodge to third. Left-fielder Geistlinger hit what should have been an easy out to Jim Lief, Seward third baseman, but the third sacker overthrew first.

Hodge and Kiburz scored on the overthrow. Marv Howe, Beatrice right fielder blasted a home run to start the third inning rally. It was Howe's second of the season. Jack Invin walked, stole second, and advanced to third on a controversial balk. Ernie Siefkes also walked and stole second.

Don Hodge drove a sharp single to right, field, scoring Invin and Siefkes. Seward's main threat was in the sixth. An error put Larry Cred- dick, centerfielder on base. He advanced to third on two fielders' choice. But he got no further as Andrew bore down to strike out Darrell Pohlman, Seward second baseman for the final out.

The Beatrice Midgets had a rougher go. In a four-inning affair, they were swamped 9-0 by the Seward Midgets. Beatrice got but one hit, and that was by Third Baseman Bobby Kreuscher, the smallest man on the Bobby's rally was cut short. He was out by steps attempting a steal to second.
