1 Asbury Park Oct. 19, 1983 D7 Aden, FDU steal show in 6N.J. Intercollegiate' (BQDQD College X-Country Brad Williams ran 21st to lead Monmouth. The West Long Branch Hawks, however, lost a shot at a higher team place with Robert Ash's ankle injury last week. He struggled home in 49th yesterday.

Aden has already won three invitational meet titles and took the Metropolitan Intercollegiate five-miler with a record 24:05 at Van Cortlandt Park, New York. HOLMDEL TOWNSHIP Jama Aden, Fairleigh Dickinson University junior from Somalia with a string of impressive cross-country running triumphs this fall, scored another yesterday in the annual New Jersey Intercollegiate Championships. 1 Aden, already named to represent Somalia in the 1984 Olympic Games, covered a 4.75-mile course at Holmdel County Park in 23:27, edging teammate, countryman and defending champion Ali Hufane. With Ahmed Ismail of Seton Hall and Somalia third, it became a 1-2-3 sweep for the East African nation. With three runners in the top four and five in the top eight, Coach Russ Rogers FDU team was a runaway winner of the team title with 22 points.

Glassboro State was a distant second with Rider third and Monmouth College eighth in the 10-school field. First U.S. citizen to finish was Rider's Bill Lipkus of Montclair, fifth. Posting strong finishes were Lake-wood High graduate Rich Rizzuto of FDU and ex-Rose star Terrence Wheat of Rider. Rizzuto, NJSIAA 1600-meter champion last June, was ninth in a good 24:29 and first freshman over the line.

Wheat was three spots back as number two man for Rider. His next major targets will be the IC4A Championships Nov. 12 and the NCAA Championships Nov. 21, both at Lehigh University. TEAM SCORES: Fairleigh Dickinson 22, Glassboro State 55.

Maryann Osis was Jackson's top finisher, finishing third at 22:14. RBC 16, Shore 49: Kate Sofronas' first-place time of 21:58 propelled Red Bank Catholic to a Class North win over Shore. HOLMDEL'S girls cross-country team remained unbeaten yesterday, posting a 22-33 Shore Conference Class victory over Mater Dei. Lauren Jelm (20:12) and Adele Federico (20:26) finished 1-2 for the winning Hornets. Sue Ashmore of Mater Dei was third at 20:33.

In other meets: SJ Vianney 26, Donovan 31: Lesley Gale outlasted Deridre Heffernan by one second as St. John Vianney downed Monsignor Donovan in a non-conference meet. 1 Gale ran the Winding River Park course in 21:54, one second better than Heffernan. Henry Hudson 16, Pinelands 39: Julie and Kim Cuny finished 1-2 leading Henry Hudson to a Class win over Pinelands. Julie Cuny's time was 20:24 with Kim following 20:56.

Chris Maslow of Henry Hudson was third at 21:08. Point Beach 28, Manchester 32: Running without Michelle Gladden, Point Beach staved off Manchester in Class C. Point Beach's Mary-Lynne Hughes set a Manchester course record of 18:36. Central 15, WaU 50: Central took the first eight places to defeat WaU in a Class South meet. Carrie Jordan won the race in 21:37.

Point Boro 16, Howell 47: Point Boro swept the first four places to defeat Howell in Class South. Barbara Ohlott won the race in 22:20. Freehold 15, Shore 46: Freehold swept the first five places en route to a non-conference victory over Shore. Paula Arcoleo won the race in 22:15. Rnmson 15, Ocean 50: Tara Crawford ran her home course in 23:10 leading Rumson to a Class North win over Ocean.

Monmouth 19, Long Branch 38: Julie Hicks' first-place finish led Monmouth to a Class North win over Long Branch. Hicks' winning time was 20:07 with Roxanne Davis of Long Branch finishing second at 20 25. TR South 26, Southern 29: Kathy Babiak and Cheryl Sadowski finished 1-2 as Toms River South edged Southern in a Class A South meet. Babiak ran the Ocean County College course in 21:24 for the win. Brick 18, Lakewood 45: Karen Skillman and Reese Coffin finished 1-2 as Brick defeated Lakewood in a Raritan 23, Middletown North 38: Team depth prevailed as Raritan defeated Middletown North in a Class A North meet.

Becky Dziadzio of Middletown North won the race at 21:42. Lisa DILorenzo was second for Raritan in 21:55. Dot McFadden on Raritan was third in 22:32.
