Farmingdale FRANCES C. DECKER BOYCE, 86, of KEYPORT, died Friday at home. She was a secretary for the Keyport Board of Education for 12 years until retiring in 1942. Prior to that, she was a secretary for Chase. Manhattan Bank and Home Insurance both New York, for 19 years.

She was a graduate of Keyport High School and Drake Business School. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Keyport, for 72 years. She was a lifelong Key-port resident. Her husband, Frank Boyce, died in Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth (Betsy) LaCount, Keyport, and Barbara McGruther, Fair Haven; a brother, Everett Decker, Keyport, and three grandsons. JAMES J. BYRON, 83, of MANASQUAN, died Friday at St. Vincent's Hospital, New York. He was an accountant for Western Electric New York, for 38 years until retiring 19 years ago. He was an Army World War II veteran.

He was a member of a bowling league in Wall Township and a communicant of St. Denis Roman Catholic Church where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was born in Newark and lived in Newark and Union before moving to Manasquan 40 years ago. Surviving his wife, Lillian Miller Byron; a son, James J. Point Pleasant; a daughter, Kathleen Byron, Spring Lake Heights; a sister, Jane Griffin, Maplewood, and two grandchildren.

O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall, is in charge of arrangements. FLOYD R. CHARLTON, 64, of EA- TONTOWN, died yesterday at Patterson Army Community Hospital, Fort Monmouth. He was an electronics technician with EAI Associates, West Long Branch, for 20 years until retiring in 1992. He was an Army Vietnam War veteran with 25 years brothers, Thomas, Tarpon Springs, and Theodore, Lawrence Township; two sisters, Elizabeth Robinson, Ellisdale, and Leonore Matthews, Crosswicks, Chesterfield Township, and five grandchildren.

Saul Colonial Home, Hamilton Square, Hamilton Township, is in charge of arrangements. IRENE H. KLAPP, 85, of TOMS RIVER, died yesterday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was a housekeeper in Long Island for many years before her retirement. She was a former member of the Ascension Lutheran Church, Franklin Square, N.Y.r, and, the Lutheran Women's League.

PICINICH, 44, MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, died yesterday at Beth Israel Hospital, Newark. He was a self-employed car-j penter contractor in the New York and New Jersey area for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Ocean County Modelers model airplane club and was a registered golfer at Bey Lea Golf Course, Toms River. He was born in Englewood and lived in Guttenberg and Bayville, Berkeley Township, until moving to Manchester eight years' ago. His father, Lawrence, died in 1984J Surviving are his mother, Dolores! He was vice president of construction for Alexander's department stores, New York, for 23 years until retiring. He was an Army Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.

He was born in Ho-boken and lived in Middletown Township until recently moving to Red Bank. Surviving are his wife, Dolores C. DeRose Madsen; two sons, Michael Fort Lee, and Donald, Middletown; two daughters, Lorraine Madsen-Corregano, and Michele Madsen, both Red Bank; a brother, Wayne Madsen, North Bergen, and five grandchildren. WILLIAM J. PAWUCK 90, of West Belmar, WALL TOWNSHIP, died Thursday at home. He was a sheet metal worker with Teamsters Local 478, Union, for 24 years until retiring in 1969. He was a communicant of St. Rose Roman Catholic Church, Belmar, and a Navy veteran.

He was born in Poland. He lived in Irvington before moving to West Belmar in 1954. His wife, Dorothy H. Lehmann Paw-lick, died in 1990. Surviving are his daughter, Dorothy C.

She was a member of the Lupis Foundation, Eatontown. She was born in Bayonne where she lived until moving to Key-port three years ago. Surviving are her husband, Peter Keyport; two sons, Frank, Wisconsin, and Peter, Keyport; her mother, Jean Furlipa Shomilak, Matawan; two brothers, Frank Shomilak, Rocky Point, L.I., and James Shomilak, Middletown Township; two sisters, Yvonne Cardone, Bayonne, and Patricia Moncrief, Keyport, and two grandsons. ROMEO, 75, of MANALAPAN TOWNSHIP, died Friday at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was a television and air conditioning repairman and operated Ralph's TV and Air Conditioning Service in Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Howell Township before his retirement six years ago. He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan Township, where he was a member of the Leisure Club. He was a member of the Manalapan-Englishtown Senior Citizens Club 1 and the Pine Brook Chapter of Deborah Hospital.

He was also an amateur radio operator. He was ROSEMARIE S. MOLINIA, 39, of the Forked River section of LACEY TOWNSHIP, died Friday at home. She was an English teacher at the Lacey Township High School for several years. She was a member of the Lacey Christian Assembly, Forked River.

She was born in Teaneck Township, and born in North Adams, and lived in Staten Island until moving to Manalapan 15 years ago. His wife, Dorothy Galos Romeo, died in 1990, and his son, Robert Romeo, died in 1980. Surviving are two brothers, William R. Romeo, North Adams, and Dr. Donald A.

Romeo, Norwood, three sisters, Frances McNichols, Shippens-burg, Kathryn Romeo, North Adams, and Rose Ellison, Springfield, Mass. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, is in charge of arrangements. MICHAEL T. SCARAMUTZ, 58, of UNION BEACH, is survived by his wife, Barbara Kellman Scaramutz and he lived in Port Richmond, Staten Island, before moving to Union Beach. This information was incorrect in his obituary yesterday in the Asbury Park Press.

MARIE A. VESTERMAN, 72, of MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, died yesterday at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel Township. She was a clerk for the Woodbridge Post Office for 15 years until retiring in 1984. She was a communicant of St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown.

She was a member of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary Lodge 2179, Middletown. She was born in Brooklyn and was a longtime resident of Port Monmouth, Middletown. Her husband, Edward died in 1993. Surviving are a son, Donald Stemen, Port Monmouth; a daughter, Marie Zennario, Middletown, and four grandchildren. John F.

Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, is in charge of arrangements. JUNE R. VISCONTI, 60, of farmingdale, died Friday at Cooper Hospital, Camden. She was born in Brooklyn and lived in West Belmar, Wall Township, until moving to Farmingdale 10 years ago. Surviving are two sons, Joseph and John, Wall; her mother, Gladys Chapman Coverdale, Wall; a sister, Gladys Collins, Richmond, and a brother, Franklyn Coverdale, Locust Grove, Va.

She was born in East Orange and lived in Newark until moving to Berkeley 20 years ago. Surviving are a nephew, Donald D. Carswell, Sinking Spring, a niece, Ruth Carswell Weidenburner, West Palm Beach, and four grandnephews.

Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Toms River, is in charge of arrangements. BRIDGID MARIE BLOCK, 9, of TOMS RIVER, died Thursday at home. She was a second-grade student at Washington Street School. She was a member of the Cedar Grove Elementary School Cheerleader Association. She was a lifelong resident of Toms River.

Surviving are her father, John R. Block, Island Heights; her mother and stepfather, Kathleen B. Scheller and Brian McClow, Toms River; a brother, Nicholas Ryan McClow, at home; her half brother, John Block, Is lives to save us. There were thousands of them, but no way to know how many." Several trips to reunite helpers and the servicemen they saved are planned this year and next around the 50th anniversaries of two of the key dates in World War II. D-day, June 6, 1944, was the day Allied troops invaded Western Europe.

V-E Day, May 8, 1945, is the day the Germans surrendered. One member of the French underground, Leslie Atkinson, visited Phoenix to help arrange the reunion trips. In the worst days of the war, he said, "it was raining aviators." The Germans shot down half a dozen planes a night near Atkinson's hometown on the English Channel, and he helped rescue the survivors. HOWARD R. BERGER, 66, Gainesville, formerly of WEST LONG BRANCH, died Wednesday in Gainesville.

He worked for Home Life Insurance West Long Branch, retiring after 20 years. He was the former president of the Monmouth Museum, served on the board of trustees of Green Mountain College in Vermont, was on the board of directors of the Salvation Army, Asbury Park, and was the former president of Woodbine Cemetery Association, West Long service retiring as a master sergeant. He was a member of the Eatontown Elks. He was born in Lewisville, and lived in Germany until moving to Eatontown 22 years ago. Surviving are his wife, Else F.

Charlton; three sons, Ralph, Manhattan, William Eatontown, and Robert Bradley Beach; three brothers, Virgil and Howard, both Indiana, and William, Michigan; four sisters, Edith Henry, Kentucky; Goldie Bogue, Marie Lewman and Mildred Davis, all Indiana. Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown, is in charge of arrangements. BEATRICE E. CONNELLY COATES, 73, of AVON, died Friday at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was a registered nurse at the Allendale Nursing Home, Allendale She was a Navy World War II nurse and a 1942 Hackensack Hospital Nursing School graduate.

She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth R.C. Church, Avon. Mrs. Coates lived in Allendale before moving to Avon.

Her husband, James J. died in 1983. Surviving are two sons, James, Hague, N.Y., and Kevin, Allendale; three daughters, Eilleen Ort, Marietta, Darlene Nake, Wyckoff Township, and Maureen Huber, Green Pond, Rockaway Township; two sisters, Connie Yoke and Mickey McCau-ley, both Wyckoff, and nine grandchildren. Van Emburgh-Sneider Funeral Home, Ramsey, is in charge of arrangements. CAROLINE HAUCK HERRMANN, 62, of MONMOUTH BEACH, died Friday at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

She was vice president of the United Tele-tech Federal Credit Union, Holmdel Township, for 17 years. She was a graduate of Emma Willard School, Troy, N.Y. She was a member of the Cold River Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club, Sea Bright Beach Club, Junior League and was a leader of a Girl Scouts of America troop. She attended Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, Mass. She was born in New York and lived in Little Silver until moving to Monmouth Beach in 1985.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph a son, Joseph C. Mattapoisett, two daughters, Elizabeth H. Tynan, Locust, Middletown Township, and Tricia Deans, New York; her mother, Ann Marie Hauck, Red Bank; two sisters, Jean Wiley, Bradenton, and Ann Marie Walsh, New York, and three grandchildren. MONTEGNA KAUCKI, 75, of SURF CITY, died Friday at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Stafford Township. She was a supervisor for RCA Harrison, for 37 years until retiring in 1973. She was born in Newark and lived in West Orange until moving to Surf City 21 years ago.

Surviving are her husband, Walter; two sisters, Jean DeVito, Toms River, and Mildred Kane, Surf City. Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, Manahawkin, Stafford, is in charge of arrangements. BRUCE W. KINTER, 68, of Hamilton Township and BEACH HAVEN, died Thursday at home.

He had been a field manager for IBM for over 35 years until retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, the Brant Beach Yacht Club, Sons of the American Revolution and Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge 28, Bordentown. He was a World War II Marine veteran. He was a lifelong Hamilton Township resident.

His wife, Elaine M. Kinter, predeceased him. Surviving are five sons, Bruce Laurel Springs; Christopher, Kodiak, Alaska; David, Kurt, and Kyle, all Hamilton Township; a daughter, Kimberly Jakimowicz, Philadelphia; a friend, Lola Kline, Freehold; two Atkinson, now 73, has to be coaxed into talking about his years in the French Resistance. He recalls one American pilot who bailed out when flak brought down his plane. Peasants squirreled away the man in a granary, burrowed into the wheat.

Germans combed the village but couldn't find him. Atkinson's mother treated the pilot's head and leg injuries, and Atkinson retrieved the body of the copilot from the wreckage. Villagers held a funeral Mass, buried the copilot in the local cemetery and put flowers on the grave. "The Germans were furious," Atkinson said. Another young soldier, not yet 20, was sent to hide on a farm.
