J-ERN WESTMORE SHOW Other Sett from SIS9.9S TABLE MODELS CONSOLES COMBINATIONS one-hour delivery ment, "Children's Corner" was carried nationally for four weeks In September, replacing the "Paul'WlncheU Jerry Mahoney Show." Last month it won a Syl-- vanla Television Award as the nation's best locally-produced Juvenile show, 'Negotiations between Fred Rogers and Josie Carey, pro- ducers of "Children's Corner," and NBC have been underway ever since the show made its outstanding success as a summer replacement It would have been on the network sooner but for Fred's Insistence that he and Josey continue "Children's Corner" In its familiar late afternoon spot on WQED. This has been satisfactorily settled, so the youthful producers will commute between Pittsburgh and New York at the end of each week to present the show live from Radio City. Scheduling of "Children's Corner" has Involved time shift for many of NBC's most firmly entrenched Saturday shows. Following "Children's Corner," the network will present in progressive half hour Intervals. "The Pinky Lee Show." "Fury," and The Paul Winchell Jerry Mahoney Show." It Is reliably understood that Fred and Josle.

despite their Christmas week inaugural on the network, will present their "Children's Corner New Years Eve Party" over WQED from 7:30 to 9:30 on Dec 31 as originally planned. Another Captain MeCii.cl.eoa? One of the hundred finalists In Pillsbury's Seventh National Baking and Recipe con test Is 15-yearold boy from Mingo Junction. Ohio. Like the celebrated Captain Richard McCutcheon of "$64,000 Question," Robert E. Koran has made a hobby of cooking and baking since he was 7.

He does the cooking, not only at home, but for the neighbors, particularly when they are entertaining and require a fancled up dish. Thus far In the Pillsbury contest he has won S100. a gas range and a food mixer as prizes for his specialty, a toothsome cake. Part of the "BakMff Contest," which takes place In New York on Monday, will be carried on Monday morning's "Arthur Godfrey Time." The winners will be presented on Art Linkletter's "House Party" at 2:30 on Tuesday. Both shows are carried on Channel 9.

Steubenville. where It is probable that authorities at Catholic Central High will have to declare a part holiday so Robert's classmates can cheer him on. Godfrey's Side Of Finn Of In the current Saturday Evening Post installment of Arthur Godfrey's "This Is My Story," he gives a detailed account of his dismissals of Archie Bleyer and Julius La-Rosa, and the Larry Puck cident which he asserts was In no sense a firing. Godfrey's version is persuasive. In the wild, excessive publicity surrounding these Incidents It was generally overlooked.

I suspect, that there are generally two sides to every story. Arthur dusts off Ed Sullivan with one brief paragraph: "Ed Sullivan, whom I have met only once some years ago when CBS asked me to make, an appearance on his program cashed in. His antics got so laughable that performers actually begged me to hire them just for one hour and then fire them so they could get on "Tossed of the Town." The unconscious cruelty of youth: Eddie Fisher, speaking of the crowds of girls who swamp him every time he appears publicly, remarked: "I've been In the business feng enough to know that crowds are all a part of It. I remember when I was a kid In Philadelphia how they used to mob Frank Sinatra." Makes Sinatra sound ready for the Retired Actors' Home.
