Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Funeral Home in Reno Paul John Hendrickson Analysis of trends aids crime fight, accident prevention By Jactyn O'MalUy Reno police officers are increasing surveillance at high-accident intersections throughout the city to reduce injury accidents and educate drivers.

Also.thedepartment has been using acrime analysis technique that help them divert dwindling resources toward what they believe are emerging crime trends. Patrol officers' use of crime analysis over the past two years has been successful in figuring out when and where armed robbers might strike. Police monitor those areas or businesses and either catch suspects in the act of committing a crime or fleeing the crime scene. Traffic officers have their own versum of the analysis tlut tracks high crash kica-tions. It notes factors such as driver behavior, environmental conditions aivJ engineering issues.

Officers saturate tlux areas to curb crashes and traffic violations. The Traff ic Crash Analysis Report (TACR) for April found that the most accidents with injuries occurred at McCarran Boulevard at South Virginia Street and Robb Drive and Sharlands Avenue, with four crashes reported at each intersection. "Not only is TCAR effective in reducing injury crashes, it also places a focus on traffic law enforcement as a problem-solving tool in reducing crime in general," said Lt. Mohammad Rafaqat Rafaqat. "Deploying resources from the traffic division at the right places and at the right time enhances police presence in a troubled area and is an effective counter measure to deter and erode crime." For example, Rafaqat said motorcycle officers last week arrested a man accused of daytime residential burglaries.

They were patrolling an area recognized as the suspect's "hot zone." this ad at the time of order io Daniel Oxborrow Daniel was the son of Ephraim Lucy II i Oxborrow. 1 le was bom in Lund, Ne vada on Au-tMst 25, 1915.
