Mr. Amoroso said members of his society will attend Monday's meeting and "present our case in the hope that we can contribute something of value to stop this unpopular property tax increase." Sirhan Trial Tab Setting Records LOS ANGELES (UPI)-The trial of Sirhan B. Sirhan for the slaying of Sen.

Robert Kennedy is a prosecutor's dream and a taxpayer's nightmare. A county official disclosed yesterday that when Superior Court Judge Herbert V. Walker gaveled the trial to order Jan. 7, Sirhan's case already had cost $370,416. It was probably a record sum for what appears to be an open-and-shut murder case.

The chief defense attorney, Grant B. Cooper, already has said he will not contest the charge Sirhan fired the shots that killed Sen. Kennedy. The trial resumes Tuesday, deeply enmeshed in technical detail, as Mr. Cooper tries to prove the grand jury that indicted the 24-year-old Jordanian was not representative of the community.

Sirhan is expected to testify briefly Tuesday, to establish his foreign status and his family's modest financial circumstances. His mother, Mrs. Mary Sirhan, also was to be questioned. County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn says the county spent $185,768 for special security measures to protect Sirhan's life. The figure includes the cost of installing armor plate on the wall of a courtroom near Sirhan's cell in the Hall of Justice.

The investigation of the slaying cost $138,697, Mr. Hahn says. General expenses came to $46,951. Miami Classes Resume MIAMI (UPD-Chisses will resume Monday at Miami Central High School where a racial disturbance closed the school Thursday. Of Girl, 12 Mrs.

Clark spoke of a man in uniform taking them to his trailer home. Erler had a trailer home and was uniformed. Then the officer told the court he knew it was Erler when he heard the police recording. Erler resigned and was arrested last September in Phoenix, Arii. He spent much of Thursday on the witness stand, denying he killed the girl and shot her mother.

Anthony Amoroso, president of the 75-member society, yesterday said "the tax burden has simply become too great on both our young and old homeowners. "The City of Pittsburgh this year has recognized this fact when it held the line on property taxes," Mr. A said. "It Is now time for the County Commissioners and the borough and township officials to reappraise' the distribution of the tax load," Mr. Amoroso said 64 mem- bers of the society recently voted on the i of whether to fight a proposed 1-mill real estate tax increase in Penn Hills.

Two Opposed Fight Only two members voted against joining, the fight, he continued, because "they didn't want to get involved in politics." "Politics has nothing to do with it though," Mr. Amoroso said. "We just want to keep taxes down so we can sell more houses." Penn Hills commissioners will hold another vote on the township's 1969 budget ordinance which raises real estate taxes from 11 to 124 mills at a meeting Monday. The ordinance was passed at a meeting Dec. 30, but it later was determined the commissioners had violated Robert's Rules of Order, and another vote was scheduled.

Commissioners George Taylor III, Joseph Lepovsky and William Patellos voted against Senate To Probe 'Violent' Movies WASHINGTON (UPI) A Senate subcommittee wants to find out what violent movies do to youngsters. Sen. Thomas J. Dodd, Connecticut Democrat, chairman of the Senate juvenile delinquency subcommittee, charged yesterday that some of these movies are "custom designed for the youth market." He said his subcommittee would start a study in March on the generation gap and the alienation of American youth, paying special attention to violence. events leading to the shootings.
