The garden show this year, continuing from April 28 through- May 3, will be held under two huge tents instead of in Oakland Ex-' position Building, the scene of past exhibitions. The natural beauty of Lakeside Park will provide a perfect backdrop for the outdoor section, where many garden clubs and other groups already are arranging their model gardens. The central theme of show will be "Pan-American Gardens Workmen now are engaged in the construction of replica of the famous "floating gardens" of Xochimileo. Chaffee, ,51, circulation director of the Southern California Associated Newspapers and circulation manager of the Union and the Tribune-Sun, died yesterday.

A native of Joliet, Chaffee had headed the circulation department of the newspaper group since 1929. Survivors include the widow and a son, Charles D. Tailer, 39, reported to be a member of a prominent New York family and a Harvard University graduate, must serve one year in the San Francisco County Jail as part of the terms of five years' probation granted him after he pleaded guilty to a bad check charge.

Bus Firm Forms War Mobile Units The Pacific Greyhound Lines today was organizing itself as a volunteer mobile agent of the Army, with formation of three auxiliary motor bus reserve units in the Bay area. One similar unit will be made up in the Los Angeles area and another at Portland.

All are being organized under the direction of the Western Defense Command. F. W. Ackerman, vice of the bus line, said that each unit will consist of 24 busses, one repair truck, one tank truck, five automobiles and two motorcycles. Greyhound employees will man the units and all equipment used will be that of the bus line.

Each unit will have. its commander, sergeants, corporals, mechanics, runners and dispatchers. Individual units will be established in San Francisco, Oakland, Marin County, Los Angeles and Portland. Services for Casey Conducted Yesterday Services for Thomas N. Casey, 76, retired deputy County Sealer of Weights and Measures, were conducted yesterday at the Chapel of the Oaks.

Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Church with burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Casey joined the county department in 1925 and retired about five years ago. Casey lived at 493 10th Street.

He died Friday following a stroke of apoplexy. Surviving him are several nephews and all of whom reside in Kansas City.
