The board approved the recommendations of an investigating committee which found that the 10,000 member ACA pursued "tortuous paths" of the Communist Party for years. Similar action may be taken against the l-'ur and Leather Workers, which two weeks voted to withdraw from the CIO rather than change its left-wing leadership.

This 50,000 member union is headed by Ben Gold, an avowed Communist.
