Proebstel, of the United States navy was announced yesterday by Mrs. Wilbur Bearss, mother of the attractive bride-elect, who presided over a beautifully appointed luncheon at Club Fortune. and Mrs. Leo C. Dunnell of San Francisco. Her bridegroom is a former resident of Norfolk, and is a member of the University of Nevada football team. The newlyweds plan to continue their studies at the university.

Her marriage to Lieutenant Fox was solemnized October 14 in Chicago. i i Adey Dunnell Is Bride of Bernie Shapiro A University of Nevada romance culminated in marriage Saturday when Bernie Shapiro claimed as his bride, Miss Adey May Dunnell. Both Mr. and Mrs. Shapiro are students at Nevada and active in campus affairs.

The ceremony took place in Carson with Judge G. B. Spradling officiating. Standing with the couple were Miss Sydne Hamilton sorority sister of the bride and Jack Mur-den, another member of the football team who stood with the bridegroom. The petite blonde bride was very attractive in smart brown ensemble trimmed in red.

Her small brown hat was trimmed with red feathers and brown accessories, and orchid corsage completed her costume. Mrs. Shapiro is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo C.

Dunnell of San Francisco and is a senior student at Nevada and a member of Pi Beta Phi. She plans to continue her studies and will be graduated in December. The bridegroom's home is in Norfolk, and he formerly attended the University of Georgia. The newlyweds have taken an apartment near the campus. Burns, was the occasion of a gay party Saturday evening. Guests assembled at the Burns home on Ridge street which was cleverly decorated for the occasion in a Hallowe'en theme. A ghost prowl and treasure hunt were enjoyed after which all went to the parlors of the First Methodist church for a ghost party and games appropriate for the occasion. Concluding the evening supper was served from a table centered with a large birthday cake topped with twelve lighted candles. The guest of honor was the re cipient of many lovely birthday gifts.

and Mrs. Clarence Milton McClure of the Riverside hotel was married to Aviation Cadet William John Kaupp, at an impressive ceremony in the Episcopal church in Missoula, Saturday, October 16, at four o'clock in the afternoon. Officiating at the double ring ceremony was the Rev. W. Bennett, and the church was beautifully decorated for the occasion by a profusion of white chrysanthemums and ferns.

White tapers in the altar candelabra shed a soft glow over the scene, and incidental music was played by the church organist, who also played the wedding marches. Mrs. Kaupp" is the granddaughter of John F. Fort, former governor of New Jersey, and is a descendant of George F. Fort, who was also at one time a governor of New Jersey.

Cadet Kaupp is the son of Mrs. Ethel B. Kaupp of Los Angeles. For her wedding dress, the attractive brunette bride chose an afternoon frock of Alice blue silk crepe with matching accessories and a corsage of gardenias and white roses. Standing with the couple was Miss Jean Haugh, who was maid-of-honor and Cadet Chester Mal-lory of Los Angeles, who was best man.

Miss Haugh chose for the wedding, a dusty pink frock with matching accessories, with which she wore a corsage, of pink rose buds. As the bride's father was unable to attend the ceremony, the bride was given in marriage by her mother, who accompanied her from Reno to Missoula. Mrs. McClure chose for her daughter's wedding, a gown of French blue, with silver fox trim. Her corsage was of yellow rose buds.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dinner was held at the Florence hotel in Missoula, which was attended by the bridal party and friends of the young couple. Plans were made for the annual past noble grands night to be held November 4. The past noble grands will fill the chairs and confer the Rebekah degree on several candidates. Mrs. Sybil Buchell is the general chairman for the evening. Mrs.

Freda Lokke, district deputy president will make her official visit on the second meeting in November, and will hold a school of instruction. Following the business meeting, the Orpheus choir, under the direction of Mrs. Lucile Snider Parks, entertained with several selections. At the conclusion of the evening refreshments were served by Mrs. Effie Rock and her committee.

Mrs. Vincent Keele, the former Miss Teddyanna Pease, has been spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. Avys Pease, and her husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.

Q. Keele. She has been with her husband the nast six weeks in Washington. She left today for Gardnerville where she will resume teaching in the Douglas county high school. Mr.

and Mrs. Hurley Christen-son of Carlin have arrived in Sparks to make their home. Mrs. Virga Crews of Herlong, spent a few days with Sparks friends the past week. Sparks assembly No.

3 of Rainbow Girls will meet Wednesday evening at the Masonic temple. Miss Peggy Pollock, worthy advisor; Mrs. Dave Williams, mother advisor, will preside. There will be initiation of candidates. Pyramid temple No.

3, Pythian Sisters, will meet this evening at the Masonic temple. Mrs. Fay Fri-berg will conduct the meeting. The marriage of Mrs. Sue Hawkins and Karl Daniels of Carlin was solemnized in Carson on October 5, according to announcement made today.

Following a wedding trip to San Francisco, Mr. and Mrs. Daniels will make their home in Carlin where he is wire chief for the Southern Pacific company. Maxine Bearss Betrothed to Emery Proebstel To announce the engagement of her popular daughter, Miss Maxine Bearss, Mrs. Wilbur Bearss entertained at a luncheon at the Club Fortune, Sunday afternoon. Miss Bearss is engaged to Emery H. Proebstel, seaman 2c stationed at the naval air technical training school at Memphis, Tenn. For the happy occasion, the luncheon table was attractively decorated with red and white chrysanthemums, and each guest was presented with a floral corsage.

A red, white and blue theme was carried out in the decorations, and the engagement was announced by tiny sailor boys standing on nut cups with signal flags held in either hand. On one flag was written "Maxine" and on the other, "Emery." No date has as yet been set for the wedding. Miss Bearss is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur C.

Bearss of 307 Moran street. She attended the local schools and is a graduate of Reno high school with the class of 1913. At present, she is a freshman student at the University of Nevada, where she is pledged to Delta Delta Delta sorority. She is also a member of the Blue Peppers, and is the recorder of Reno assembly No. 1, Order of Rainbow for girls.

Seaman Proebstel is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emery H. Proebstel, of 92 Wilson avenue. He is a graduate of the Reno high school, where he was affiliated with Pi Delta Kappa fraternity.

He was also a member of the Hi-Y club. Prior to his enlistment, he was employed by the forestry service. He enlisted in the navy in June, and received his recruit camp training at San Diego. Attending ithe announcement luncheon were Mesdames Wilbur C. Bearss, Emery H.

McCuistion, James J. C. Gilmartin, Robert H.Parker. Announcement was made recently of the marriage of Mrs. Sue Hawkins of Sparks to Carl Daniels of CarJin.

The couple were married at Carson on October 5, and went to San Francisco on their heneymoon. Mr. Daniels is wire chief for the Southern Pacific company at Carlin. Sparks arc, Fireside circle of the Sparks high school met at the home economics room. Others present were Misses Joanne Bausch, Janet Bailey, Bessie Inman, Winifred Hillman, Tos-ca Derrico, Elsie McPartland, Barbara McGee, Madeline Arenas, Mary Alice Call, Mildred Riggle, Popular Girl Bride of Navy Officer The marriage of Miss Jacqueline Marie Reid and Lieut. Christopher Bernard Fox of the United States navy was solemnized on October 14 in Chicago according to announcement made today by Mr. and Mrs. John L. Reid, parents of the attractive bride.

Mrs. Reid accompanied her daughter to Chicago where the ceremony took place in Old St. Mary's parish church with the Rev. Father Carvil officiating. The bride chose for her wedding a smart suit in navy blue complemented with blue and white accessories.

She carried a bouquet of yellow orchids and for "something old" she wore an heirloom floral gold pin set with diamonds. Miss Natalie Doe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doe of Oakland, was maid of honor. She is a close friend of the bridegroom's family and has often visited in Reno accompanied by her parents.

She wore a biege dressmaker suit with beaver trim, brown accessories and floral corsage. Ensign Melvin St. John of Springville, 111., stood with the bridegroom. Others attending the wedding were Mrs. John L.

Reid, Mrs. Christopher Bernard Fox, anS Mr. and Mrs. Rilea Doe. After the ceremony, a wedding dinner in the Empire room at the Palmer house honored the newly-weds.

Lieutenant and Mrs. Fox spent their honeymoon at the Edge-water Beach hotel and now have taken an apartment in Chicago where they will reside until Lieutenant Fox is transferred to his new station at Astoria, Ore. The couple plan to come west by way of Reno and if this is possible Mr. and Mrs. Reid will honor them at a reception giving their many friends an opportunity to greet them.

Mrs. Fox is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Reid, widely known residents of this community.

She attended the local schools, graduating from Reno high school, later attending the University of Nevada where she was a senior student at the time of her marriage. A member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority she was honorary captain of the ROTC unit for three years. One of Reno's most charming young ladies she is popular with a wide circle of friends. Her bridegroom, son of Judge and Mrs. Christopher Bernard Fox, prominent residents of Oakland, attended the University of California pre-legal school before enlisting in the naval air force.

At California he was a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity, Ciecle C. Winged Helmet and Skull and Keys. Mrs. Reid was accompanied home by Mrs. Fox who spent several days here before continuing on to her home in Oakland.
