Whittemore girl weds Glen Dora PaUon. daughter of the W. E. Patlons. Whine-more, and Charles Margrave, son of the R.

E. Margraves, Ceuar Rapids, were married Sunday. Nov. 6 at 2:30 in the Algeria 'Metho- i dist church. Rev N.

M. Cqugh- enour performed the double ring ceremony. Mrs Coughcn- our was organist and Willard Snustad sang. Mrs Marvel Culbertson, Lone Rock, was bridesmaid. Attending the bridegroom was Ronald Graham, Gedar Rapids.

Ushers were Donald and Robert Palton, brothers of the bride, and Larry Spinlbauer, Cedar Rapids. A reception was held in the church parlors with Mr and Mrs W. Franz, DCS Moines, as host and hostess. Linda Sellers, Cedar Rapids, poured arid, Alice? Patlon, of Des 'Moines, cut" the cake. Delores Eisenbailh, Ce- dar Rapids, served Ihe punch: Donna Patton had the guest book and Dorene Jakoubcc, Myrna Larimer, and Elaine Branson opened gifts.

Waitresses were Mrs Marlys B.justrom, Whitlemore, Mrs Jean Gerdis, Titonka, and Nancy Meyers, Cedar Rapids. Guests came from Des nes, Vinton, Emmelsburg, Forl Dodge. Vincenl, Toledo, Whilte- i more, Lone Rock, Moorland, Cei dar Rapids, Pittsburg, and Balcl- 1 win, Kans. After a wedding trip to the I Ozarks, the couple will live in i Cedar Rapids at 533 F. N.

W. Mrs Margrave is presently employed at the Guaranty and Trust Bank and Mr Margrave is employed by the Collins Radio Corp. Effie Curtis, 70 of Burt, passes Nov. 5 Burt Mrs Harry Curtis, 70, Burl resident, died in the Dickenson county Memorial hospital in Spirit Lake at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

The cause of death was attributed to a stroke and heart failure. She had been ill with diabeles for several years and had been hospilalized five wtfeks prior lo her dealh. Effie Curlis was born March 12 1890 al Lewis, Ihe dau- ghler of Peter and Lydia Steinman. She came lo Kossulh county al an early age, receiving her education al Ihe Elmore and Ledyard schools. She married Harry Curtis on May 3, 1910 at Blue Earth.

Her husband died in 1950. They farmed near Burt for many years. She was a praclical nurse mosl of her adull life. Unlil ill heallh forced her to retire she owned and operated the Curtis nursing home in Burt. Survivors are one son, Charles of Burt; two brothers, Geo.

Steinman of Burt and Harley Stienman of McGregor, Minn. Eighl grandchildren also survive. Family services were 1:30 p. m. Wednesday al Ihe home and public services were al 2 p.m.

at the Burl Methodist church with the Rev. Fred Samek of- ficialing. Burial was in the Burl township cemetery. Garry funeral home of Bancroft was in charge of arrangements. CRITICAL Jake Burghgraef, a farmer living near Sanborn, was in critical condition recently as a result of an acci- denl on Ihe farm.

Walter Smith, 79 of Swea City dies Sunday Swea City Walter Gayl Smith, 79, died early Sunday at his home in Swea City. Mr Smith had been a semi-invalid since 1953.

He was born March 23. 1881, in Warren county, Iowa. He came to Kossuth cocnly with his parents in a covered wagon when he was eighl years old. They sellled near Algona. He moved lo Seneca in 1899 and farmed in lhal township for 13 years.

He was married March 15, 1905 to Isadora Fish. They moved to Swea City in 1913. Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death. Survivors include one daughter, Miss Esther C. Smith, who teaches at Charles City; two sisters, Mrs Bertha Eckholm, Mason City, and Mrs Belle Black, Algona; four brothers, Luther, Des Moines, Elmer and Ray, of Swea City and Ernest of Eslherville.

Prayer services were al Barnes funeral home al 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with funeral services at the Baplist church al 2 p.m. The Rev. Le Roy Carler offici- aled wilh burial in Ihe Harrison township cemetery. Mrs Smith, who preceded her husband in death in 1957, was a longlime correspondent for Ihe Advance.
