1 1 OAKLAND TRIBUNE, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 1941 21 Berkeleyans to Soldiers Recreation Chief Hopes to Have 300 Invitations BERKELEY, Nov. to get rid of that Thanksgiving turkey, so that there won't be "leavings" for days and days? Charles Davis, superintendent of recreation in Berkeley and also chairman of the city's hospitality defense committee, says he has the answer. Just telephone the City Hall, he adds, and ask for two men to sit at the festive service, next Thursday. Davis and his committee hope to have two or more lads in uniform in at least 150 homes. Berkeleyans are responding generously, the recreation superintendent says, but there are still more offers to be made if the local quota for service men is to be met.
