Maritime Service Calls in 258 Men Who Enlisted Prior To Dec. 5 Seaman Ratings To Follow A group of 258 men who had applied for enlistment prior to Dec. 5 have been sent to a New York training center, the United States Maritime Service announced today. The men will eventually become merchant seamen in the Merchant Marine service after three to six months training.
