Karl's Silver Club turns 'sweet sixteen' i1 only 30 slot machines, two keno stations and one blackjack table. By early 1970, Karl Berge was the sole owner of Karl's Silver Club. Since then many changes have taken place at Karl's. Currently, Karl's has a 206 room hotel, 40,000 square feet and more than 390 slot machines, a $50,000 keno game and nine blackjack tables. Recently, Karl's has broken ground for a major expansion of the casino.

In addition to a much larger casino area, Karl's will feature new restaurants and meeting and convention space. Upon completion of the expansion project, Karl's will have over 107,000 square feet. Karl's HotelCasino turns "Sweet Sixteen" this weekend with a fun birthday celebration. All weekend, July 15, 16, 17 from 10 a.m. til' 10 p.m.

daily, Karl's will be celebrating with free champagne, 25t domestic beer, 50t Heineken beer, 25t well drinks and 50t call drinks. A special top sirloin steak dinner for $1.16 is also par of the planned "Sweet Sixteen" birthday party. Karl's will hold free hourly give-a-ways of $100 cash and 16 free pulls on Karl's dollar slot machines. Sixteen years ago Karl Berge, with several other businessmen purchased the Silver Club in Sparks, -Nevada.
