Picked up suffering from cold, fatgue and hunger on Antelope ummit, forty miles west of Ely, a woman giving her name as Mrs, Edith Johnson of Chicago, with her nine-year-old daughter, Betty, was brought to Ely by a passing motorist Sunday night and is in a local hospital suffering a nervous breakdown. Ownership of Hotel Nevada, Ely's most pretentious hostelry, changed hands again this week when a group headed by W. S. (Ole) Elliott of this city, purchased the building and furnishings from the Wingfield interests after the latter had taken over the hotel several weeks ago under a trust deed agreement from the original stockholders who were chiefly local ranchers and businessmen. Efliott has operated the Northern hotel here for many years. It was built by the late Tex Rickard and until erection of Hotel Nevada was the leading hostelry In this district.

Elliott is a veteran of the Klondike and Goldfield stampedes; and made his stake in the latter place. Names of his associates were not revealed, but they are uunderstood all to be Ely businessmen. R. T. Harris, formerly with the Golden hotel in Reno, will be on the staff of Hotel Nevada as chief clerk, it was said, with Elliott serving as manager of both Hotel Nevada and the old Northern.
