"I nttsburgh Press, Oct. 2. IVi 3 Views Voicing Rita Moreno Plays The Link In 'Shhh' By EDWARD L. BLANK Press Drama Editor "Shhh" is a sometime thing. tf r1 "f-V who atempts to occupy the seat next to Miss Moreno.

ODDS AND ENDS: Mary Beth Fischer is directing "The Impudent Wolf," a parody on "Little Red Riding Hood," in the University of Pittsburgh's Stqdio Theater, basement of the Cathedral of Learning, where performances will be at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and Saturday and Nov. 6-8. Sandra Dee, for many years a movie box office draw despite her lack of formal training, is polishing her craft now by doing stage work. She's on the road in "The Ninety-Day Mistress." Carlow College is offering a theater workshop for high school students at 4:30 p.m.

a damsel tied there by a black-hatted, mustached villian. "CRUNCH CRUNCH" is an obliquely drawn cartoon which makes the point that man is the only creature who kills arbitrarily. "The One-Arm Bandit," "The Canoe Trip" and "1501V4" all have amusing premises, but none plays well. "Bandit," shot in the style of an old crime flick, involves a holdup by a handicapped amateur. In "The Canoe Trip," a man tries to transport his newly deceased mother-in-law in an auto-drawn canoe filled with ice.

A bathroom is a man's entire living space (at $95 a month, yet) in "1501V None of the picture's attempted humor quite works, although Miss Moreno nudges some life into "The Canoe Trip," playing an insolent waitress. IN THE UMBRELLA SECTIONS of "Shhh," she plays a moviegoer ing a screening of the shorts with date Robert Sacchi (doing an impersonation of Humphrey Bogart). The running gag is that he misses the whole program while fetching refreshments. (Shrug.) Produced by Pittsburgher Maurice Cable, "Shhh" opened with an invitational screening last night at the Squirrel jHilt, where its regular engagement begins IT CONSISTS of seven short rejects, linked only by brief "bridging sequences" featuring Rita Moreno, The first two shorts have turned up in Pittsburgh theaters previously, which may explain why one guest at a recent screening suffered an eruption of deja vu. Two of the shorts are excellent: "Skater Dater," In whteh the wholesome-looking adolescent leader of a skate-board gang abandons big childhood pals to pursue a young beauty, and "Solo," an Oscar-winning short about a mountain scaler.

Neither has dialogue. "Blaze Glory" is a so-so comic-western melodrama in stop-motion photography. A pasty-white-faced cowboy in a 10-gallon hat rescues from a railroad track RITA MORENO Bridges sequences. Paul Price wrote and directed the sections in which Miss Moreno appears, as well as "1501 in which he also stars. District entertainer-writer Bob McCully turns up briefly as a moviegoer COMEDY MYSTERY George Segal plays Sam Spade Jr.
