30 (UP) A threat to strike the huge Chicago Ftockyards has been made by the TPnited Packinghouse Workers (CIO) over the alleged refusal of the management to obey War Labor Board directives ordering mainten-ence-of-union membership and other provisions. Tilford E. Dudley, union counsel, disclosed today that the stockyards local union would take a strike vote Oct. 14 and added, "the men undoubtedly will vote to enforce the Government's order by a strike (and) the yards will probably fall to open Oct. 16." A similar strike threat was made ecainst Cudahy Cudahy, for alleged failure to obey WLB orders.
